Steve’s Pawn — Local services in High Ridge Township

I had a firearm transfer done through here. Great price, great turnaround time, very friendly staff. I honestly thought this was going to be the first of many transfers through this dealer.

The problem came up when a staff member who was a big fan of the firearm I was picking up (a 1911) drew his loaded weapon from its holster to show me his similar handgun. That was a little weird but it didn't leave me too bothered. It's not like he put his finger on the trigger or pointed the muzzle at me--but then, later on in our conversation, he drew it again, this time pointing it right at me. Not cool! I got the hell out of there after that and I will not be returning--ever. I'll gladly pay more for firearm transfers from a dealer who won't make me stare down the barrel of a loaded 1911.

In response to the owner's comment, first of all I appreciate your candid reply, but I have to stress that a gun was indeed pointed at me. It was unintentional as the gentleman just wanted to show me his gun, but he did indeed flag me. Better care must be taken in the future. His loaded weapon should not have left its holster in the first place.

If there was a negative star I'd give him two. I went days before christmas to pawn my rings I wear almost everyday to buy some things for my kids. He knew I'd be back for them we discussed how much I hated to pawn them. My forfeiture date on ticket was 1-22-21. I was there 1-20-21 cash in hand to get my items only to be told he scrapped them because I sold the items to him. So why the forfeiture date ? Right ? I've been here twice.. and they're very friendly and the place is nice.. but.. I've been here no less than four times where they're not open during the posted hours. Hey owners, if you want to take off early that's fine just change your hours so people don't waste their time trying to open your door.. I'm looking to buy and you're on my list of places to check but I keep getting rebuked. Seems like you're not really interested in selling things. By the way your lighted Open sign is on with the handwritten sign about you being closed. Perhaps hire some help so you can be open what hours you post...
