Weal Inn — Restaurant in Highland Charter Township

I really wish i could give this place a good review considering its pretty much the only option in my area when you need a late night meal and drink. Unfortunately this bar has simply been a waste of my time twice. Tonight i decided to to give it a second chance with my girlfriend and our friend. It was around 11:30, we where hungry and looking to get some good bar food and a couple drinks... After sitting down I remembered that the last time i was there with some people, after sitting for several minutes i had to walk up to the bar to ask for menus (pretty uncommon no matter where you go) so i waited a couple minutes and decided to just go ahead and walk up to the bar. When i got up there i overheard one bartender to the other “can you believe its not even 12 yet?”. Seemed like she wasn't too thrilled about being there. I asked if the kitchen was still open and then proceeded to ask for a couple menus, a beer and a drink for my girlfriend. The bartender asked for IDs (expected) then asked for the id of my friend whom i had not ordered a drink for. I said “but i didn't order anything for her.” She said “she has to be 21 to be in here” so i smiled and told my friend i needed her id. As i did this the bartender told me “you can take that attitude somewhere else”. I was surprised considering i was actually in quite a good mood prior to her comment. I said “what? I don't have an attitude...” she gave me that “sure ya don’t ” look. So i said “okay, we will go somewhere else”. Took the IDs back and we walked out. This was quite frustrating. This place has such good reviews yet i cant seem to get the same decent service others do although i have been more then polite each time i have been there. Unfortunately me nor any of my friends will be going back to this bar again. Which by the way the bartender acted, is...

The on duty bar tender ingnored us for almost ten minutes as my 2 friends and I sat at the bar. She was too busy sitting on the lap of one of the patrons at a table 10' away from us, until another patron got her attention after his 3rd attempt, as we were getting up from our seats to leave. We came to the Weal Inn for Burger's , Shots and Beers. The bar tenders attitude was unapologetic giving us the feeling that we were not a regular therefore unwelcomed. Even after ordering 3 or 4 rounds of Jack Fire , Guinness's and 3 food orders. One of my friends is a bartender at Sprader's on the Lake and it was her idea to go to your establishment. She paid the tab and tipped accordingly 20%. Being in the industry she knows how the pay scale is. Ect... I'm not bashing the bartender by putting her name out in this review. The bottom line is that customer awareness and friendly service wasn't a strong point in her job skills or...

I was craving a bar burger for almost a week. We ordered here before for st pats carryout and food/pricing was good figured let's try again. I saw the online system was closed so no biggie I'll call it in. Whomever lady answered the phone this past Sunday put me hold for five minutes...ok no biggie. Husband asked what was happening with order and said after that long hold I'm not sure the quality of our food will be. We'll order elsewhere. (Yes 5 mins is a lot when you're managing a 3 and 4 year old when we're all hungry) priced stuff out. Husband says let's just try them again. Okay I'm not calling you can call cause everyone has caller id. He calls, gets a message from verizon saying the phone number is busy, and call back later. Ordered elsewhere. Probably the last time for ordering since prices were good but as a business if you can't handle the phone system I can only imagine what is being done...
