The last four times my wife & I got Piero's Pizza it was delivered ice cold it's enough this pizza has gotten pretty pricey. Worse than that when i was out of town on business my wife got a personal card from a delivery driver named Randy. He informed her that if she wanted to make some easy extra cash she could sell some of our nice items which he did. This Randy scammed her out of our cash & items he told my wife the owner of Piero's would protect him because they are friends & he displays his cards at all his locations so he knows what is going on. Both my wife tried contacting the owner of Piero's his name is Frank with zero results he never caller either of us back i would implore to never take any cards from Piero's.
We tried to report this & contacted the Better Business Bureau nothing resulted from any of this which really upset my wife. We decided that both the business's & the people in the Highland Park area had changed for the worse & no longer enjoyed living in this area so we decided to move out of the area . Which is the best decision we both made so we started fresh in a new wonderful area & we found a great new pizza place where you get more for your money and that has better business ethics. So we don't want to look back any further about our time in Highland Park but we just wanted to share are multiple bad experiences with Piero's Pizza & other business's in Highland Park. We are so very thankful to be out of the area & starting fresh somewhere else & we are looking forward to a new...
Read moreWe are accustom to really great pizza in dc. We just moved here to highland park.
Went on a hunt for a great pizza. We walked around ravinia and found this place... not much else there. It be a great place for a pub and good pizza restaurant.
We walked in and discovered it's not a restaurant... it's a carry out place. No worries, we can work with that.
The cashier seemed very disengaged as a first face of the establishment. We got the sense she was trying to steer us away. No personality toward us at all.she told us it would be a really long time and that we could go check out the Walgreens... wow! Do they have pizza?
Anyway. We ordered three small thin crust pizzas, paid $55 (we are accustom of paying that much and sometimes more in dc, but the pizza is actually worth it).... not worth the price.and left over pizza from here was nasty.
The dough was too dry. Perhaps the recipe that day was faulty. Either way... we didn't feel it was worth it. Over priced for mediocre pizza. We don't mind paying for good pizza.
Side note: they place a plastic liner in the pizza box, first hint that the dough isn't good. Good dough won't stick if you use cornmeal... cores is biodegradable and you can't recycle the plastic liner. It's the kinda thing that gets int our oceans and kills...
Read morePiero's was recommended to me by a friend. I hadn't had their pizza since there was a different owner many years ago. I ordered a pan pizza to be ready at 6PM and it was ready right on time. But when I got to the restaurant, I found out that there was no place to sit down, it was take out only. We was at a show in HP and we were going to have pizza before we drove back to Algonquin. We ended up having a couple of slices in the car. The pizza was fantastic, some of the best deep we have ever had. Unfortunately, with no place to eat inside, I don't think that I will be able to eat the in the future. It is too messy to eat in the car. You would think that with Ravinia Park right down the street, that they would have a sit down restaurant for all of the out of town people that come in to town. Once covid is over, Ravinia has show's all year round at their outdoor and indoor venues. The owners were really nice...
