Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Highland

I don't typically have problems with this Dairy Queen. Last night was just plain bad. My order turned out to be wrong when I got home. When I called them up they told me I could come back and they will give me the correct order. I went back up after I had eaten some fries and proceeded to wait for my correct order. After waiting for about 10 minutes, which I should not have had to do, I asked to speak to the manager. The girl at the register goes to get her and then comes back and says that it will be a minute. My food comes out 3 minutes later and I still haven't seen the manager. When the manager comes out after a few more minutes she puts her elbows in the counter and looks at me, doesn't say "hi", doesn't say "how can I help you?", she just stares at me. I ask her if she is the manager and she says yes, so I tell her about my experience and she tells me that they are training a new person and she entered the order wrong, there was someone helping her that could have been paying a little more attention. Anyways, she also said that they were down a person in the kitchen and that is when I told her that she shouldn't make excuses. She then asked me,in not a very pleasant tone of voice, "Well what do you want me to do about it? I already gave you your sandwiches." From my brief experience in customer service I learned that you never argue with the customer. Ever. And she proceeded to argue with me and that is when I told her she might want to find a different job. Or get some training on how to better act in this sort of situation. Dated inside and out, poor service. One time I was eating inside and the GRILL CAUGHT ON FIRE! I watched roaches crawl into the chocolate machine behind the counter. I know the owner hasn't passed a health inspection in years, you can find that on the Madison county health department website if you'd like to check. I've found an entire roll of toilet paper crammed in the toilet, and woman's underwear tied around the handle in the bathroom. Alot of the positive reviews here are friends and co-workers of the people mentioned, because anyone with 3 or so brain cells would realize this is a dive. Yesterday I stopped by for a sundae and they had a couple smashed bugs on the counter in customer site! Right next to the caramel!! I've watched guys working in kitchen, go to the bathroom, and walk out without washing his hands. The same guy reached into a bin of pickles with his bare hands!! They use tongs whenever a health inspector is on site but any other time it's bare hands. Spoons are moved from bin to bin for toppings, so avoid if you have a nut allergy folks. I can't tell you how many times I've stopped by and the ice cream machine has been down during the summer. You won't have these issues at Sammie's around the corner. I've heard the kids yelling ghetto smack across the back room to each other, and if you could hear how they talk about customers in the headset you'd never set foot in...

I worked for this pkace a total of maybe 3 weeks. I was tild id have pay paycheck mailed to me in 3-4 days. Day 5 comes and im still told to wait. After the 7 day mark i quit the job because who would work for free. I asked about my paycheck numerous times and all met with a very rude " youll get it in the mail just wait" After all of that I decided to take the L and just forget the paycheck all together, it wasnt worth the fight. Now 8 months later i have gottwn a W-2 from here, and i go there asking if theyre funally going to pay me. Jeep in mind they never showed me time stamps or anything while i was working there. I show them my W-2 showing that ive worked here, they say theyre going to call the payroll people to see if i evwr cashed, ir recived the check. (I didnt) now werw in day 6 or 7 if waiting on a paycheck that i shouldve gotten 8 or 9 months ago. Everyday ive check up going into the resturant where theyre not busy asking politely abiut the status of my check i always get a "what do you want?" Or a "uhm we told you we were going to call you" and when i asked for tge owners number i was told "No, we will be calling YOU" if they havnt payed me why would i expect them to call me. Never work here, they WONT pay you. Im shocked to see this place still open. If i dont receieve my money the feds will...
