We chose to eat inside today, Food was fresh for a change. But that was the only good thing about our experience today. Our food took about 8 ish minutes to get after the order was placed, but it took almost 3-4 minutes before someone helped us at the front counter. Perhaps if every single person wasn’t on their phone, or complaining about that they seen on Facebook how another McDonalds had an order of “X” many happy meals and fry’s and complaining about how someone tried to add someone else on Snapchat. We hear all of the conversations from out seat and We sat on the far side of the lobby. we could hear every single conversation happening. They are currently talking about how much an hour so and so makes and how much a week they bring home and just all the “tea” can be heard even over the music playing. Sure would be nice if a single person wiped off a table sense about half of the lobby is dirty and we’ve been here over 30 minutes and no one’s came out to wipe anything off.
The Ketchup machine is down and has been forever, I guess they don’t care that they are just adding to waste by just using packets. We went through over a dozen packets just for us.
And hopefully this ceiling tile doesn’t end up in our food from the water damage or the window decide to fall in sense it’s split the entire length of it.
I think ownership would be disappointed if they knew how...
Read moreRarely do I get to treat myself to fast food and this morning I happened to have a few minutes to myself, as well as a few dollars to grab myself a couple breakfast sandwiches from McDonald's. A Wednesday morning, at 712 a.m., went through the empty drive thru. I ordered two sausage McMuffins with egg and cheese. What I got were two burnt, dry English muffins, the cheese melting on the burnt bottoms and subpar egg and sausage patty. The English muffins were falling apart since they were so burnt, dry and there was absolutely not any butter on them. They were not made fresh by no means. I no sooner pulled up to the window and the kid handed me my food. I had to ask for napkins, as well. I was going to share this with my grandmother I was going to visit but there's no way in heck she could have chewed it if I couldn't. I hope the wild animals enjoyed it cuz it went out the window. There was no time to turn around and go back. So very disappointing and I will certainly not return to...
Read moreEDIT: I've returned.
I stuck to my promise. Unfortunately, my promise wasn't the only thing that was sticky. Susan is gone, only to be replaced by inferior and broken machine kiosks with no receipt paper that could never dream to capture Susan's artistry. The women's restroom was flooded, half the lobby housed the gorey aftermath of a Big Mac desecrated by the storms of this life, and it truly took 20 minutes to get my food.
She [Susan] is beauty, she [Susan] is grace. Now that she's [Susan's] gone, stay away from this place :(
ORIGINAL: The Highland, IL, McDonald's is the crown jewel of the fast food industry. I'm not sure what the negative reviews about old ladies are all about, because Susan was incredibly helpful and skilled. Susan is an artist, and the cash register is her instrument. The interior is classy and the bathroom houses a porcelain throne. I can guarantee that the next time I'm in Southern Illinois, I will make the trip to Highland to be...
