Nikki is having some teething pains right now. We went the second week they were open and the service was atrocious. The food was decent but lukewarm.
For our service, we got seated quickly but it took 20 minutes for our order to be taken and then 45 minutes from that point to get our food and drinks. I'm not sure if they were just understaffed or the servers don't know what they're doing but we saw our food sitting on the counter for 10 minutes before it actually got served to our table. The food was all lukewarm by the time it got to our table.
As for the food, it would have been pretty decent if the food was actually served in a timely manner. I had a TNT roll, spicy tuna crispy rice, hamachi and unagi nigiri, and chicken karaage.
The TNT roll was better than I was expecting but the spicy tuna crispy rice was not crispy due to how long the food was sitting out for. The hamachi nigiri was also getting lukewarm from sitting out and the unagi was no longer hot by the time it came out. The cut of hamachi was just okay - I've had better from other restaurants for the same price.
My wife had the chirashi bowl but the fish was getting close to room temperature because of how long it was sitting out for.
Overall, it's hard to recommend Nikki in its current state. The food is priced for $40-50ish per person for some nigiri, a roll, and maybe and appetizer and the food quality and service did not reflect this at all. I'll come back in a few months to see if they've ironed some...

As an AuDHD person with high sensory issues around food, eating healthy is a huge struggle. Veggies in particular are a texture nightmare.
Nikki's hibachi is SO good, that I liked zucchini and carrots for the first time in my life. Ate almost all of them, it was wild. I felt like maybe I needed to go buy a lottery ticket, or find a casino or something, it was that crazy. My partner was shocked, I was shocked! It really was that good.
Service was outstanding, we never needed to ask for anything, it was anticipated and provided. Attentive, but not pushy or hovering. They somehow even cleared a large platter seconds after we'd set it aside. I swear the waiter appeared out of thin air.
As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry, they deserve a round of applause for setting such a high bar right after opening. Most restaurants scramble for a bit to find their groove, but these guys came ready to play.
We will...
Read moreSo my lady and I have been living in Hillsboro for roughly two years now and frequent both conveyor sushi joints locally. This place blows both of them out of the water! We meandered in the last half hour of their night not knowing what to expect. The atmosphere is very clean and crisp with a beautiful wood/resin countertop that invited us to sit at the sushi bar immediately. I didn't even look at the menu to order; they could already make just about anything that came to mind; rainbow roll and a dragon roll with a side of potstickers. I watched them make it fresh right in front of me, as quick and as fresh as could be and just as stylish. See picture below. But really surprised me was the efficiency and price; we are a very busy couple and time is very short, getting the check and out the door within 5 minutes of asking was very...
