The process of purchasing a king sized bed can be very stressful. Depending on what you want, the final invoice can be equivalent to that of a new small vehicle. And, with all the different options out there, it can be real easy to get lost in all the pros and cons.

On Labor Day 2020, I walked into Mattress World NW in Hillsboro, OR. ready to deal with this stressful task. I visited that particular day because (1) I was hoping to cash in on Labor Day sales and (2) my wife was out of town with our children visiting her mother; and, she granted me full decision making rights on our new bed purchase.

Brian Pham was working that day and did an absolutely fantastic job making me feel welcomed, comfortable and informed about the process. I spent quite a bit of time there "test driving" several different styles and types of mattresses. Brian was very patient and very informative during the whole process. At the end of the day, I could not make a decision. Brian assured me that, while I may miss out on some Labor Day specific sales, he would do his very best to meet my needs and that there wasn't any need to rush on a big decision like this. So, I left the store with no bed; yet, tons of information and some decisions to make.

I returned the next morning with yet more questions for Brian. Again, he was very patient, very cooperative and very informative. However, I, once again, left the store without purchasing anything.

I did return, yet again, that same afternoon and I came in and bluntly challanged Brian. I directly said, "Brian. I really want this bed. But, I don't want to pay this price."

Folks, this is when Brian's magic truly shined. He knew what kinds of things I was liking, he knew what kinds of things I was NOT liking, and he had an idea of what kind of budget I was working with. He worked his magic and I ended up with an absolutely truly fantastic purchase. I did not end up with the exact bed advertised at the price I didn't like; but, Brian did work his magic and set me up with exactly what my wife and I have completely fallen in love with (and we didn't even know we wanted it!).

I can further compliment this experience by mentioning that Brian was able to get us our bed set within a week!!! In the past, when we've purchased new beds, it has been a norm to have to wait 4 to 6 weeks. We had our brand new bed installed (and old one hauled away) within a week!!! And, the delivery crew was professional, clean, mask-wearing, and very quick (they were in and out within 30 minutes).

But, the awesomeness doesn't stop there. I showed back up at Mattress World NW with more questions (about disassembly and re-assembling) AFTER the purchase was complete and paid for. Brian did not hesitate, at all, to throw himself on the floor and show me exactly how deal with the hoses, the controllers, and the electrical plugs. He went further and and threw a bed frame onto it's side to show me all the pieces I need to be concerned about and how to deal with each. Again, he had me leave there with a WEALTH of knowledge.

Brian, thank you, so much, for the experience. You made this very easy, safe-feeling, and truly contributed to this very confident feeling I have about our purchase. Thank you, again, for everything. Unfortunately for you, we might not be back for another 25 years! LOL! ...

We were looking for a Cal-King mattress to buy to replace our old bed and wanted to get a bed that allowed us to control the firmness of our bed. After shopping around at several other mattress stores, thank God that we came across Mattress World! The other major bed manufacturer which makes a numbered adjustable bed was way overpriced and didn't have the quality or features that we really wanted. But Mattress World did. Justin helped us and we found exactly what we needed. Justin was extremely knowledgeable and didn't play the "sales" game which many other retailers did. He showed us the Cal-King Q9 and matched it with the BT-3000 base and we had the ultimate bed. It is a split head bed which gives my wife and I full control on our individual preference for firmness while allowing each of us to maintain our separate head and foot levels. The bed is the ultimate in comfort and best of all, as soon as my wife slept in it the first night, she woke up for the first time in over 10 years not complaining about back and leg pain. So thank you Justin for your professionalism, kindness, patience and knowledge which has finally given us the ultimate in comfortable sleep!!

From a more technical side on this, here are some of the features that totally convinced us that the Instant Comfort bed was the best choice for us. The most obvious was price vs. features and quality. For what Mattress World had compared to the other major retailer selling numbered bed systems, Mattress World's product was far superior in quality and features. This included many things that most mattress shoppers don't think about when shopping for a mattress like the durability of the air hose and air bladder, inflation and deflation times of the air bladders, are the air bladders separate or joined together, and if you are looking for an adjustable bed like we were, does it come with a remote control? One aspect of our mattress that we found to be very unusual and we never heard of was that the Mattress World mattress can either be upgraded (or downgraded) at any time. Since the mattress layers are separate pieces, you can actually replace individual layers of the mattress at any time. We felt that this benefit was extremely important to us since we are making a long term investment into our personal comfort and we didn't want to think about ever having to buy another mattress again. I hope this review doesn't bore you with tons of details (and there are many more I could add), but if you ask for Justin and have him help you select the right mattress for your specific needs, he will be more than willing explain all the benefits of what he has to offer. I am so thrilled that my wife is finally having no more pain when she wakes up and that we finally have a mattress that is the best available on the market and we'll never have to go mattress...

Dylan at Mattress World is THE best mattress sales rep in the Portland area, hands down. I went to literally a million stores trying out every mattress brand you can imagine - Nectar, Casper, Dreamcloud, Purple, Tempur-Pedic, Saatva, you name it. I hit up Mattress Firm locations all over NW, NE, and SW Portland. The experiences ranged from just ok to pretty good, but nothing spectacular. Lots of friendly but not super knowledgeable reps giving me wrong info or feeling like upsells.

Then I met Dylan at Mattress World and it was game over. Right away his genuine, patient approach put me at ease as an introvert. He let me take all the time I needed, answered every single question, but also gave me space. Dylan is so attentive yet never pushy.

But what really sold me was his insane mattress knowledge and expertise. I had done crazy thorough research on the 2024 Beautyrest Black lines 1 through 4, and Dylan knew it all backwards and forwards. He didn't miss a single detail. With most other sales reps, I caught inaccuracies or felt they were just saying stuff to make a sale. Not Dylan - he's legit the most knowledgeable guy around.

Dylan took so much time and care to ensure I found the perfect mattress for me. You can tell he has a genuine passion for his job and helping people. The Memorial Day deals at Mattress World were also unbeatable compared to Mattress Firm and others.

Between the incredible mattress, prices, and working with Dylan's outstanding service, it was easily the best mattress shopping experience ever. He's an honest, hardworking, intellectual guy who went so above and beyond. I spoke with Saatva's manager and his customer service was incredible too, but Dylan matched it and if not, he topped it.
