I recently visited Brickhouse Bar & Grill in Hobart, IN, hoping for a fun and inclusive experience. Unfortunately, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment upon hearing about their decision to fire an LGBTQ+ staff member who had responsibly arranged to have their shift covered in order to attend a Pride event. This review is not only about the food and atmosphere but also the ethical implications and inclusivity of the establishment.
However, the glaring issue that overshadows all these positives is the discriminatory treatment of an LGBTQ+ employee. Firing someone for responsibly planning and arranging to have their shift covered in order to celebrate their identity and participate in a significant event like Pride is not only morally wrong but also reflects a lack of understanding and respect for the diverse community the bar claims to welcome.
In today's society, it is crucial for businesses to promote inclusivity and embrace diversity. By dismissing an employee solely based on their desire to attend a Pride event, despite having taken responsible steps to ensure their shift was covered, Brickhouse Bar & Grill sends a harmful message to both its employees and the wider LGBTQ+ community. This decision reveals a disregard for the rights and well-being of LGBTQ+ individuals, tarnishing the reputation of an otherwise promising establishment.
As a customer, I believe it is essential to support businesses that prioritize inclusivity and equality. Unfortunately, Brickhouse Bar & Grill has failed to meet these expectations. It is disheartening to witness an establishment that claims to be a community gathering spot fall short in such a critical area.
I sincerely hope that Brickhouse Bar & Grill reevaluate its decision and takes steps to rectify the situation. Employers should celebrate and support their diverse workforce, not discriminate against them based on their identities or activities that promote inclusivity and self-expression.
Until Brickhouse Bar & Grill demonstrates a genuine commitment to inclusivity and equal treatment for all, I cannot recommend this establishment to members of the LGBTQ+ community or anyone who values...

Don't miss it! This remarkable beast was THIS CLOSE to being the best I've ever eaten. A couple more minutes on the grill would have crisped up that sandwich just right and another squirt or two of Thousand Island dressing would have turned this 3.5 napkin sandwich to a 5 napkin wonder and catapulted it into the number 1 Reuben Sandwich ever!! But don't skip it just because it barely missed the number one spot. Get in there, order up and ENJOY. You might as well order those delicious curly fries. The only problem with those is that they gave me too many (wink, wink). It was great! Appreciated my waitress, the cozy atmosphere and delicious food, all at a good price. Try out the...

The curly fries and sweet potato fries were 100% cooked in dirty oil. This meal was not worth the $50 and I will recommend any other bar for food then Brickhouse. Incredibly disappointed. What a waste of food and money.
Update. The owner has responded below with a completely incompetent, and quite frankly rude, response. I cannot believe that instead of instantly apologizing and offering to do anything to make things right, they basically blamed me for not going back after ordering take out to make things right. That's not on the customer. That's on the ownership or management. I ordered lunch, it turned out to be horrible, and I left a review. Changed from 2...
