Capriotti's Sandwich Shop — Restaurant in Hockessin, Delaware

Stopped by for the first time yesterday at 6:30pm (30 minutes before closing) to grab 2 subs. Door was locked, lights were on, and the two guys behind counter making subs, kept heads down & completely ignored us when we knocked. Third guy appeared, unlocked door and said "We're sold out." I responded "Sold out of what, food?" He said "yeah." I said "So all the food is gone?" He said "Yup." I was so stunned, knowing he was lying to me that I just looked at the other guy who appeared who also wanted to order (after calling but no one answered the phone) and had to laugh. As I was leaving, a woman who had ordered subs 10 minutes before was going in to pick them up.

So, I just called to speak to the manager on duty, Jason, to alert him to the horrible service we received yesterday, and he said that usually when they run out of rolls they close early...so I asked why didn't he just say that and/or put a note on the door? Why couldn't they still answer the phone to let customers know? Anyway, it's pretty clear that those guys just didn't feel like working anymore and couldn't care less about customer service, so I won't be bothering to go back again. Jason didn't seem too...

Craziest experience ever. Came in asked about pricing because it’s not stated in the menu that is posted on the counter the girl Alysa gives me an attitude and after i acknowledge to her that she is giving me attitude she continues so I state that is like my order to be taken by someone else. So then Noah comes to the front and just puts in the sandwich never asked what I wanted on it just put it whatever he wanted just to get me out of the door so I then had to ask for the toppings so I can just put them on myself because why give it back if they didn’t want to do it correctly in the first place. For many years Capriotti's HOCKESSIN was the “GO TO”place for the best subs and steaks. Over the last two (2) years, it has progressively gotten worse. My most recent order of subs and cheese steaks was the worst yet. The cheese steak was tough when you were fortunate enough to find some on the roll and the subs had barely any lunch meat. It was much like playing hide and seek when opening the roll. They give you the option of adding extra meat at a significant cost, which without it, you will be sadly disappointed. With this visit, I have deleted my Capriotti's App, and will never again order from the Hockessin store. Wawa quality and price has it all over this store and will be my future “GO T0” for...
