I have no idea how this far-below-average place has 4+ stars. Almost laughable. I think that says a lot about the palates of the people who live in the Holden area.
I've lived in Holden for 11 years and have ordered Parrot off and on since I've been here. It has always been no better than average...and it has consistently declined over the years, which has caused me to order their food less.
I'm deciding to write this review now, due to the poor experience I had last night. Here it goes...
I called and ordered delivery. The girl on the phone was clearly an 'uninterested teenager'. But whatever, that's almost expected here, since it seems the entire staff is high school or recently graduated high school kids. I ordered a small Taco Pizza, a Tuna sub, the Chicken Scampi & a Greek salad. Normally, delivery takes between 30-45 minutes. An hour rolled by and still nothing. I called to inquire with the uninterested teenager, who remained uninterested. About an hour and ten minutes later, the delivery person showed up with the, almost-room-temperature food. Now, to speak to the food...
The Taco pizza was missing half the ingredients, including the lettuce, the tortilla strips and the salsa I had asked for. (who doesn't put salsa on a taco pizza by default, by the way?) The chicken scampi was about half the size it used to be. There was barely any scampi sauce, which literally tasted like water with some garlic in it. The chicken was tenderloin and most pieces contained that huge, hardened, cartilage-like vein, which I had to cut off The "greek salad" was literally a garden salad, with a cup of greek dressing (not sure if it actually was to be honest). Also, contained 1 olive, no feta, etc.
My father was up from North Carolina and decided to treat him to some dinner, and that's we he got. Thanks guys!
If you want to remain in the business, you really need to rethink your staff and instill in them the importance of producing a quality product. But, I suppose if you continue to serve to Holdenites, quality doesn't...
Read moreWent yesterday and was charged $101 and change for an order that should've cost around 80 according to the menu, and the food was mediocre at best. Meat lovers canzone is basically just various lunch meat for filling, fish looked like someone deepfried a flip flop. Was the exact shape and size. I would've left it at that and been happy with not returning. That is until tonight, a few minutes ago. I just opened the cheesecake I bought there and there was a dirty thumb print in the middle of it, meaning they packaged it without gloves and without washing their hands. First time we got the wrong sandwich, next the wrong pizza, third was they forgot the sandwich, fourth was charged for someone else's order, fifth was wrong sandwich again... the list goes on and on. To make matters worse, the owner seems to blame you for their mistakes. Just last night, i picked up my order and they gave me the wrong pizza. When i brought it back to get mine, he looked at me and simply said "you took the wrong pizza". No sorry; no we'll try harder. My advice, try the new dominos or holden pizza, but stay away from parrot until they can get their act together and the owner learns how to...
