Daddio's Carry Outs — Restaurant in Holland

The family and I ate at Daddio's. We entered and were immediately greeted by Momma's hospitality. Her hospitality is not only heartwarming but also authentic and enriching. That's just talking about Momma. Her hospitality and care cannot be compared to any other restaurant in Holland. She even gave my daughters free CapriSun and chatted with them. I wish others would take note of this. I even enjoyed seeing another customer walk in and lovingly greet Momma like she was their Momma. Now let's get to the fantastic food. My family and I recently moved back from Florida after the passing of one of my daughters to be near family. One of the things we missed about Florida was the southern cooking and the Soul food. The food at Daddio's was excellent! We had the BBQ tips with three sides: mac' n Cheese, collard greens, baked beans, and Cornbread. All for $27. This fed our entire family, plus more. The BBQ tips were so delicious and came right off the bone. They were amazing. We are picky with Collard Greens because we have had some excellent collard greens from excellent restaurants in the South, and I can tell you that this is by far in the top five that we have had. My fiance and I went in yesterday after a very ruff day hoping to be able to grab some good comfort food cause given the circumstances we could really use it. Upon our arrival we was greeted with the most welcoming greeting I've had in a long time. It felt as though we walked into your momma or grammas house❤️ As we sit there and look over the menu and have conversation with the owner about our day and how terrible it was we notice that the one thing we wanted they just happened to be out of. Not that it was gunna make or break the decision to still stay and eat she offered to go out of her way to turn the fryer back on and fry some chicken wings specifically for us!! It was an all around incredible experience and I would gladly drive the 2 hours back from home to eat over and over again. The quality of the food, the hospitality, the vibe, the location, all of it was by far the best that I've had in years! So good. I had a craving for collard greens, I know, weird, right. Anyway, haven't had them since Clara's in Baldwin, MIchigan, years and years ago. I usually satisfy my greens craving with turnip greens at Cracker Barrel. Not the same, but will do when I'm desperate. Anyway, I typed in, "collard greens holland", and up comes Daddio's! So I tried it out. Tiny little take out place, tucked a little way of the main street. These are usually the best and this was no exception. The collard greens were just like I remembered, perfect. I also ordered a half slab of BBQ spare ribs. My stomach was stuffed to the point of being painful and I still wanted more. Oh, best of all, the price was surprisingly low for the amount of food you get. They don't skimp. A definite oasis of good southern/soul food.
