Not sure where to start with this review, but I have been going to Big Cedar for 30+ years and just had the worst experience ever at Devil's Pool Restaurant this week. First off, it took about 10 min for someone to come get our drink order and it was not crowded at 6:30 pm. We place a drink order and 25 min later we got some waters and 2 cocktails! So, we are 35 min into dinner and just got a drink, and when I complained that it took 35 min to get some water or anything to drink to the waitress she was extremely rude and unprofessional. And once we had our drinks we would go for extended periods of time without a refill or seeing our waitress, then she would come back and refill the tables glasses except for mine. And I ordered a salad and the waitress throws it in front of me and says I hope that was quicker than the drinks in a sarcastic tone! We also ordered an appetizer to come out before the meals, but never did see the appetizer, so once the meals came out I asked about the app. The waitress said there was a mix up in the kitchen and she would bring them right out and did not apologize or offer to take them off the bill. So, we are eating dinner and my daughter ordered a cheeseburger and she is about half done with it and finds a hair in the actual burger! Then once everyone is done with dinner the chicken livers come out with no apology from the waitress for the mix up! Then we go to pay for the meal with our room number which we have done everywhere on the Big Cedar property for several days, and the waitress says she needs to see a driver's license of who reserved the room, which was my wife who did not have her ID, but I did and they would not accept this. By this point I asked to see the manager who did not once come around and see how things were going. After telling all of this to the manager, she still did not allow us charge dinner to the room, and after 10 min of complaining the manager did say she would take off the appetizer and the cheeseburger that had the hair in it, but I am just not sure I will go back to that restaurant after...
Read moreI made these reservations approx a month ago, for 10 people. We are visiting Branson from Texas. We chose this restaurant for the view of the fireworks as recommended by a friend. When I made them, I made mention that we were interested in dinner and the view of fireworks. I was told a 6:15 dinner reservation would be appropriate for dinner and staying to view the fireworks. So I booked it. We ordered 2 kids meals, 7 adult meals. The food wasn’t impressive for $225 + a $35 tip. My chicken was cool, and flavorless, the BBQ sauce was helpful. I won’t speak for anyone else’s meal, I didn’t try it. Our waitress Donel was nice enough, not sure where they have to go to get your drinks but it takes a good amount of time to get refills. There were a few other things I could critique but will leave them alone. My biggest irritation was we arrived with a 99 yr old in a small framed wheelchair/walker, 60 yr old with recent knee surgery, 70 yr old, and a 5 yr old. After paying for our meal we sat out on the balcony to visit and watch the fireworks. A woman who calls herself the manager comes to inform us we needed to be prepared to be kicked out due to other reservations. We politely accept and within the hour she does just that, kicks half of us out by cramming our party into a corner table with 5 chairs. I proceeded to take my older kids and the 5 yr old to find another location to sit for the rest of the evening. It’s approx 7:30-7:45pm. Fireworks at dusk which ended up being 9:30pm. This event was not only embarrassing offering a scene for the other guests but disappointing by both temperament of management and quality of food. As I walked thru the restaurant it was nearly empty. I will also mention the rest of our party that remained behind at the restaurant stated they never filled nor did they seat anyone at the table we were kicked out of. I received this as people just be nasty and throwing their title around as permission to behave...
Read moreThis place is absolutely hands down perfection. The food was delectable, the environment was lodge cozy, friendly service.
The restaurant is part of Big Cedar Lodge development but not the main part, it is off to the side. There is a suspended walking bridge as well as vehicle bridge that is so quaint and beautiful. From the bridge there is a amazing waterfall view as well as the canyon below. Gorgeous.
The restaurant is a log cabin, and just teaming with cozy warmth. I love all the finishing touches with the large fireplaces and decor.
I came for lunch, was sat that right away, the restaurant wasn't too busy. I sat next to the window with a beautiful view of the lodge next to it and the canyon below. The weather is a bit dreary but it still had a cozy vibe.
I ordered the cinnamon toast drink that was warm apple cider with rum. I liked the warmth, was a bit too sweet for my taste.
Jay was my server and was the ultimate pro. He was friendly, had great follow-up and was on top of it! Great customer service.
I went ahead and splurged and got a few things, knowing that I would be taking the remainder back with me for dinner. I had the deviled eggs, which had pickled eggs, salmon, very tasty. I had a cup of chili which was rich, nice chunks of meat, and a robust flavor. Topped with cheese, this chili does not disappoint!
I also got the bar-b+q burger with french fries. This is one of the biggest burgers I've ever had It was topped with brisket, a delicious barbecue sauce, fried jalapenos. So good. The fries were thick and crispy, really nice.
This was definitely a fabulous treat and I would highly suggest devil's pool Restaurant for an amazing dining...
