I can honestly say this restaurant is my favorite place to eat in a 900 square mile area. That's not an exaggeration. I have never, ever eaten something here I haven't liked and I've just about eaten my way through the entire menu (including specials!) Dishes of particular note include their wings (in a million different flavors, the garlic parm is my favorite), fried clam strips (I've NEVER liked fried clam strips until I tried theirs), the shrimp and grits, the coleslaw (drooool), the breakfast sausage links, and ANYTHING that includes either a biscuit or the sausage gravy (their biscuits are GRILLED and they're INSANE). They also selflessly fed their community for free during hurricane Florence out of the pure goodness of their hearts. No power, no lights, no a/c, but it was the first hot food and cold drink we'd had in three or four days. It literally brought tears to my eyes. The sense of community was astounding and the food was STILL incredible, hot off the grill. Wonderful people who pour their hearts into their soul food and community means you can really...
Read moreAfter I have had 3 recent to go orders that have all been messed up. I thought I would write a review. I am a local that comes in at least 2 to 3 times a week ordering to go food. I had a bacon egg and cheese sandwich & every piece of bacon was literally burnt black. I had a chicken salad sandwich on Hawaiian roll I previously have always got 2, they gave me one roll with literally 1 small spoon of chicken salad on my sandwich with no lettuce and tomato that I had asked for. This morning I ordered a Sausage egg and cheese scramble together on white toast with mayonnaise. I got 2 burnt pieces of toast with only egg and sausage no mayonnaise no cheese. Sad!!! I'm super easy going and understand mistakes happen but at this point I feel it's directed towards me. We will not be back.
I rarely & I mean very rarely order anything besides those 3 items. I let the 1st sandwich slide bc i figured it was a mistake. The chicken salad sandwich I told them about. And my last sandwich just pushed...
Read moreMy husband, my kid and I grabbed breakfast this past Saturday 7/1/23 at around 9:30. We are white and our service was exceptional, pretty good food too. Unfortunately, the black couple next to our table was treated horribly. They got drinks only and arrived and were sat before us. We were literally waited on, spoken kindly to, checked on, and received our food pretty quickly. However, halfway through our meals, the man finally said to a passing staff member that he had not even seen his server for 15-20 minutes. Our server finally came out and was very dismissive of the customer. He was very respectful and I'm sorry to say I didn't even realize that they were there before us, we were there and almost done eating before this poor man spoke up. They ended up leaving and I don't blame them. Just really?? The only black couple in the place. We will not return. If this is a public restaurant, serve ALL of the...
