I cannot recommend this place highly enough. By FAR the best gluten-free baked goods in the Triangle area -- and with the most loving baker.
Storytime
We sampled cakes from around the Triangle area. I am gluten intolerant, and I was GOING to EAT my own wedding cake, dagnabbit! Many of the cakes we sampled were good. But they often had one base flavor -- and frankly, many of them were dry.
That's the hazard of gluten-free baking, right? Wrong.
We hired Bestow Baked Goods immediately after eating their sample tray.
Every. One. Of their cakes. Was rich, decadent, soft, moist, and packed with flavor. They have multiple bases to choose from, their cream cheese frosting is to die for, and their frosting flavors are out of this world. Our wedding cake was a sweet potato base with cinnamon honey frosting. When I tell you I was hyping this cake up for months, I'm not kidding. And if you're a doubter, let me just say: when other doubters finally got to eat this cake at our wedding, they converted to singing Bestow's praises. The cake was outrageously good.
But that's the thing. It's not just about the cake. I mean, don't get me wrong -- it is. But what's so special about Bestow's baker, Heather, is how much heart she puts into her work. It's been a year now since our wedding, and we continue to feel as loved by our baker as we felt loved by our friends on our wedding day.
Each baked good we buy from Bestow -- and there have been many in the last year -- is a reminder. It's a reminder of how perfect our wedding day was. A reminder of how much had to happen to make our wedding possible. Of how generous of spirit Bestow Baked Goods and Heather are. And it's freaking delicious. Always.

Our wedding cake itself was a true masterpiece. We opted for a tiered cake with two flavors - sweet potato and lemon with raspberry jam. Each bite was delicious, leaving our guests raving and coming back for more. It's no surprise that we had no cake left by the end of the night!
Heather's attention to detail truly set her apart. Not only did she deliver the cake on time and in perfect condition, but she also went above and beyond by personally setting up our cake table. Additionally, her thoughtful gesture of providing us with personal cakes to enjoy at the end of the night was the perfect way to conclude our wedding festivities.
Despite the luxurious presentation of her work, Heather's pricing remains incredibly affordable. Her cake exuded elegance and sophistication without breaking the bank, making her services a true treasure for any couple planning their special day.

Read moreVery friendly staff! I went in to inquire about making a cake for a birthday celebration and the 2 people I worked with were nice and very helpful. I had never tried their cake before but a friend recommended them to me. I went in to inquire about the cake I wanted made and based on suggestion for what I wanted, I wanted to try their cake before I paid. I had a the chocolate cake with oreo buttercream. The chocolate cake was served in a bowl - at the bottom of the bowl was the cake and the top was the icing. I tried the cake and I did not like it - the cake itself was dry - the buttercream icing was great but really cold so it was very hard. I am not sure if that particular dessert had been sitting in their cooler for a while or a few days or what but I could not believe the cake was not moist. I saved it for my daughter who loves cake to have after school and when she took one bite and did not like it, I knew that it was not just me. I would love to give them another try but for this event, I decided not to move forward since I did not enjoy the cake and someone who is known to scarf down cakes of any kind did not...
