I love smoothie king & my review is not so much in particular to my experience with the individual/ individuals working, but more so how this place is seeming to be run. Last time I came here, about 2 weeks ago, there were 3-4 workers. One person was in the front working while the others were in the back room on their phones. The door was open so customers can literally see these employees in the back on their phones. Service was great otherwise & I got what I came for. Today, I come in & it’s busy. There’s only one person working. She’s taking orders & doing what she can in a timely manner. A second employee comes in & they are able to get things going. I have 0 complaints about the employees from today. I will say, my complaint is if you can have people visibly sitting around one day, but not be properly staffed on a weekend, something should be evaluated because it just doesn’t make sense. I’m not one for bad or even negative reviews, but this was ridiculous, not even as a customer but just watching this girl become overwhelmed...
Read moreWhile the smoothies are good, I would not recommend supporting this business or working here. I currently work here but I am on my last days as I’ve already put my notice in and I have only been there a month.
They hire high schoolers (nothing wrong with that) but they leave 15-16 yr olds alone to open & close by themselves, which is illegal by the way, we’re so short staffed that I worked 7 days in a row and the manager is still trying to cut my hours even though we have no coverage.
They also let these 15-16 yr olds work over 40hrs which is ILLEGAL! One of the 16yr olds I worked with reported to me that she’s worked over 100hrs a week…which once again ILLEGAL! I seriously wish I could give this place 0 stars…
Oh by the way, there’s mold everywhere I can’t even begin to believe how dirty it is behind the counter. We also have roaches and water bugs underneath the sink upfront…I wouldn’t risk getting sick so go to a tropical smoothie or something…they actually have...
Read moreWell. We go here quite often. Likely 2x a month for a family of 5. Their smoothies aren’t bad but their consistency is lacking. We’ve had to throw away several smoothies because they just weren’t good and it’s been from flavors we always get. I told this to the employee to see if I could get a free drink. I mean their drinks aren’t cheap - they’re $10 for a large size so the girl got the manager and she said she could take $2.00 off my order. I thought that was lousy but whatever and chalked it up as horrible customer service especially as she had said they were having problems with employees and firing them. And then she said I’ll give you 10% off your order. Certainly that was better, but seriously as much as we have spent there??? Penny wise but pound foolish. Sure they saved themselves some money by not giving me free drinks but my loyalty to them low and I’ll think...
