My family and I have been going here almost every Friday since before the pandemic started. Tonight we happened to forget to bring our masks but, we covered our faces with our shirts going in and were asked if we had masks. We explained the situation and the hostess went to ask if we could be allowed in. When she came back she told us we were not welcome. We spoke to the manager and explained the situation and that we would cover our nose and mouth with our shirts for the walk to our table. The manager was extremely rude, uncaring, and unwilling to help or come to a compromise - he cut us off when speaking to him and said "Ok, well bye!" Probably the worst customer experience I've ever had speaking to a manager. Not even sure how this person came to be a manager with their complete lack of soft skills. Will never return because of the managements complete lack of empathy for an honest mistake. Also, if you are going to be this strict about masks being worn, then have spares on hand for those who do forget here and there, instead of just being a complete jackass and losing a good, paying and tipping customer.
To the "owners" response: We were not looking to argue about the mandate, we were looking for a bit of common courtesy for regular customers who just happen to forget their masks on one single night, out of the many, that we had been there. We were seeking a compromise to the situation. We tried to compromise by holding our shirts over our nose and mouth. You did not come back with a compromise that would have been acceptable from your end. You simply dismissed us, in a "well FU" manner. If we would have been told about the masks available for purchase we would have bought them and worn them and that would have been that but, neither you or your hostess mentioned that to us as an option, which further proves the point that you are unwilling to help your regular, loyal customers. This is an absolute failure on your part! I'm absolutely blow away by the still total lack of empathy or understanding in your response to this review. You seem to be missing the point, either because you are too dense or just really don't give a damn, that we have been there several times prior to yesterday, with masks, because we are aware of the mandate and your establishments requirement. We simply forgot to bring them with us this one time and asked how we could still be allowed to dine. Instead of helping my family you chose to kick us out the door without a second thought. Also, thank you for solidifying the fact that we will NEVER return with this half hearted, miserable response to our review. Luckily enough we found a new favorite place that night after being kicked out of your s-hole (and it's not the people that work there but YOU that make it a s-hole.) That will now be our new, regular Friday night spot. So, thank you...
Ā Ā Ā Read more3 1/2 stars. Got āthe Dukeā sandwich and garlic green beans. Very good! Service, eh. Stood at the door for several minutes as the sign said to wait, before anyone even acknowledged me and it was the bartender who said to just find a seat. Server was kind of off-putting; she asked what I wanted to drink as I was sitting down, so I asked what was on tap and she pointed to the QR code, stating there were 20 beers. Ok, she did bring me a water even tho I didnāt ask for it which was nice but I wouldāve saved her a trip and gotten it in a Togo cup had she asked. She left without saying anything after I ordered my food, another server brought my food and then checked on me after I was halfway done. So I asked about my server and thats when I was told she left. If sheād have spent a little time and realized I was an in and out person on my lunch break (I was out in 30 minutes), she might have stuck around for the $10 I usually tip. Lesson here servers: Iām also a service professional and you should never judge a book by they cover and we have a saying in the industry, āgreet them and read themā. She did none of that. I will give them another try since the sandwich was flavorful...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAn all around great Experience. I phoned ahead at 9:55pm after a pathetic experience trying to eat at the local Texas Roadhouse (zero star review for them btw), and a man advised they were happy to serve me and kitchen closed at 11pm. Arrived to be given the choice of seat, Erin promptly greeted me, and offered to take any order I was ready for. She made a recommendation on burgers, and she was right. Guacamole Burger was spot on, at the right cooked temperature, gave plenty of napkins, and quickly delivered everything. I asked for some ranch for fry dipping, and was assured I found the right place to eat, as the bill didnāt show an extra charge for a condiment haha (charging for ranch is just so out of control these days). Iām a fast eater, but Erin was sure to check on me during the meal. Further assurance this is my kind of restaurant was the arrival of the bill, where it simply said ātipā under the total charge. It DID NOT offer recommendations of 18%, 25%, and so on, which is also so out of control these days. Erin was quite gracious, the food was very good, and the atmosphere relaxed and cool. Keep it up, and stay normal My Way Tavern! Iāll be back...
