My husband and I love to go to this local gem of a wine bar. They often have live music, various drink specials and/or a food truck. The wine and beer selection is extensive - to some, perhaps it is overwhelming. However, Niche’s bartenders are very knowledgeable and have a gift for matching your drink desires to something in their vast collection. I find this to be a personable and unique touch you don’t find too often. I enjoy expanding my horizons by being introduced to wines and beers I might not normally pick for myself from a menu, but ultimately really enjoy. We especially enjoy one of their bartenders, Anthony, who really knows his stuff and has a dry sense of humor that keeps us coming back. The decor is fascinating and truly an experience in October and December when they go all-out for the holidays.

We came down from Apex to try some wines at a “wine bar”. We were a little concerned over live music being present, but fortunately the volume was set well and it was a nice experience.
Now the big problem here was the bartender didn’t like red wine and was unable to offer any advice. It was nice that we could sample wines from the glass menu, but it would be much better for the bartender to be able to ask for our preferences and guide us before offering a sample.
Additionally, vaping was present inside the venue, including with the staff. We started to realize this place was more a local’s play club more than a wine bar. I guess that’s fine, but I feel that this place is a bit misrepresenting what they are. I suppose it’s hard to say that 100% because their website is...

With the sale of Niche to one of the regulars things changed quite a bit. Gone are the picnic baskets that even Yogi Bear would pass up. Gone are the groupon deals that couldn't possibly meet expectations. Now things are a lot different. And by different I mean so... much better. The art is more tasteful. Furniture more comfortable. Service is back to the level that was absolutely excellent when I was hanging out there. Niche is on to a new chapter in its life. And just keeps getting better. It's a great place to meet new friends and visit with old ones. Comfort without pretense. It's also impossible to...
