Visited Battle Alley Brew Co for the first time yesterday. BBQ and craft brews, what more needs to be said? Atmosphere was nice with varied seating between bar seating, some high tops, and a few larger booths. Side note - It was "Roper's wife's night", with quite a few people dressing up as her from "Three's Company". Nice job with the costumes all of you! Food: Ordered the brisket melt and a side of mac n cheese. With sides being ala cart, I was expecting an outstanding side of mac n cheese, fitting for a BBQ restaurant. The food came out relatively quickly, with the biggest wait for it being the bartender who was very busy filling cans of brew, as the food sat there waiting. Brisket sandwich was delicious and came with some au jus to dip. The mac n cheese on the other hand, cold and very plain. Not cold due to sitting there, cold directly from the kitchen. Once heated, it was no frills, shells and cheese sauce. A big disappointment. This could easily be made a staple or signature with some modifications. Until that, it is nothing more than cafeteria mac n cheese, especially when it comes out cold like it did. Brews: Ordered the tasting flight. The few I tried were excellent. Had a few of the ciders, the imperial stout, and the poppin tropic. Would order some of these again. A few people around me ordered the bowls, which looked delicious. Service: Sat at the bar. Bartender was very busy filling cans. My food sat at the end of the bar a while before making it to me. Was kind of put off by my asking if the mac n cheese was supposed to be cold, but maybe she's seen it happen before and it wasn't me she was ticked at. Really needed a few bartenders at that point in the day, which more did show up after 5. Overall: Battle Alley is a nice place with great brews. The food is good but pricey since there is not a side included. The sides are pricey for what is received. In my opinion, the mac n cheese is not worth the price and needing a major revamp. I didn't see what the side of fries looked like, hopefully those are worth the additional "side" price though. This place is worth a try, at least for the brews alone. Form your...
Read moreAlthough I will admit, I too... Like Kitty have had a glass with something on or in it.... And yes.... There has even been times where I wish our soup was warmer.... But ya know what Kitty.... I have NEVER met a more committed team or individuals who take such immense pride in what they do! They put their heart and souls into this business and it shows! It is evident in the way the owners take the time to say hello when they walk by and thank us for our patronage.... It shows when I learn about how they make and the effort and passion for the end product and their willingness to share how it's done... It shows when we sit down and are greeted with hey guys welcome back!.... It shows when mistakes happen Kitty.... we as consumers ask for something to be fixed, remade, or simply addressed ... And it shows that this establishment and it's fleet of employees care, because all we have ever heard since they have opened, in the rare situations that there is a concern.... Is oh I'm sorry let me fix, replace or remake this for you with a smile and sincerity.... So yeah I suppose it's possible that cork showed up in your wine glass from the "tap" that it is poured from.... And there was a smudge on your glass Kitty... but I can attest that it was either not communicated to the team ... Or.... An opportunity to allow the team to make it right was not given! Kitty, this stuff is gonna happen anywhere you go... if you are looking for perfection go and talk to God.... Otherwise cut people some slack and give them some grace!
Keep doing what y'all are doing Battle Alley! You have our vote and we appreciate your efforts and the incredible work you put into everything you do! That is what makes us continue to come back, time and time again!
All the best! -John...
Read moreSo I’m having a hard time with this review because I so badly wanted to like the place.. we like to support smaller family owned businesses. First I will say my sandwich was pretty good, very flavorful. My wife on the other hand, ordered a single smash burger, she doesn’t like lettuce, onion, tomato, etc.. so she noticed an olive tapenade, which coming from someone who likes olive burgers, she assumed that was basically what it was, a mayonnaise based olive burger.. nope, it had olives, green onion, tomatoes… basically everything she didn’t like. So my thought, if the waiter knew she didn’t like any of those, he would have asked “hey, this comes with x, y and z, would you still want that?” So he came by after and asked how everything was going, I told him why there was a pile of tapenade sitting there and he just said ok… and you guessed it, once the bill came, we were still charged for it. And then my biggest complaint is the price structure. This is a brewery, not Ruth’s steak house. There’s no reason everything should be ala-carte. If you order a burger or sandwich, it should come with fries and you can upgrade to tots, or Mac or whatever.. and then I’ve never been to a brewery where we usually get a flight, and every drink was charged as almost a short beer price, it was $4 and $4.75 each small portion of beer for a flight! That’s absurd. Flights are typically $10-12 no matter where we go, not $16-18! My guess, by the lack of amount of patrons on a Saturday night, we’re not the only ones who think pricing is a little outrageous.
So needless to say, unfortunately we won’t be back. Which is sad because we did enjoy the food. The Mac and Cheese that my wife got was pretty good she said. Which is sad why we’re torn on...
