7.14.2023 Update
I hate to do this for a local business, and this is only after numerous occasions of this incident happening. I had to remove one star. I think the business is wonderful and I will continue to support local businesses including Holly donut shop! However the inconsistency in operational hours and as far as I can find, a lack of posted hours that the business is actually open, leads to quite a bit of frustration when planning a visit and traveling specifically to this donut shop just to find that they are not actually opened despite Google and their facebook page saying that they are... I don't have social media other than being able to view their facebook page but it would be great if they could post something so we could at least as consumers see that a drive to Holly specifically for their product doesn't turn out to be as disappointing and then being forced to get Tim Hortons donuts anyways 😞 I totally respect the keeping it old school type mom and pop business and I absolutely love their products. But I hope this feedback helps make it easier for those individuals like myself travel specifically for your product.
If you love donuts and have not tried the Holly donut shop... then your life quite simply is not complete! :-) this place is fantastic what's best about it is that it's nothing fancy it's just good old homemade fresh donuts every morning expect to pay a little over $11 a dozen which is well worth it considering what you get. The glazed cinnamon rolls are by far my favorite so give them a try you'll be very happy that you did! Just an FYI for visitors it is a cash only stop so...

Looking, I asked if the choc.frosting changed because the chocolate frosting looked like milk chocolate with cookie crumble mixed in. She said, "it's chocolate bits.... but the same, nothing changed." 🤔 Well, they didn't used to have chocolate bits in milk chocolate, so it is different. I clarified if it was the same ingredients, but the batch maybe was mixed differently than usually, like, not thoroughly. She said yes not mixed. Okay, no big deal, I chose my variety of a bakers dozen and went home. My house of 4, 1 of which is a 12yo avid donut lover (like she can eat the box in a couple of days herself if I let her). Not 1 person liked a single donut. I'm the least into donuts, I get a plain and bow tie, and I like about a bite of a cream long john. They were all borderline raw, clearly undercooked in the centers, the chocolate frosting was gross, the vanilla frosting was gross, a weird opaque and snotty consistency. The cream filling was gross and not right and not fluffy. It was kind of wet. The taste being gross in all the frosting and filling is strange because I don't even think their is normally any flavor, they all literally just taste like sugar, but not gross, and the frosting and filling consistency has always been glossy, creamy and fluffy.
Someone did SOMETHING VERY wrong in that kitchen, and I'm going to give it a chance that it was...
Read moreThey closed 1/2 hour early. Looked like someone was taking inventory out of the cases. It appeared that whomever was working this day, wasn't interested in pleasing the customers, or keeping the life of a small town, mom and pop shop alive. It's a shame cuz I was born and raised in this town and never replaced the quality of the donuts from this shop with any other brand. I understand being limited on time, but staying true to your advertised time would be better. People may have spread the news of the famous HOLLY DONUT SHOP, to be disappointed, simply because of limited time and therefore the hype becomes history and disappears. Hopefully this changes and someone that cares inherits this place, so the legacy of this donut shop...
