I was just there 5 minutes ago and ordered The Big Kahuna…the manager, who was going to make my sub, never asked me how I wanted it and it didn’t dawn on me at all because they always ask you towards the end what you want on it etc…so he then goes to hand me the sub already wrapped, and I asked him to add what I wanted (mayonnaise and oil), and he wanted to put it on the side? No…I wanted it on the sub of course…
With a line of people behind me, he then wanted to argue with me that he didn’t want to make the sub the way I wanted it, telling me that they ask before they make the sub, how you want it (not true), but even so, I asked him then why didn’t he ask me? I told him that if he’d have asked me how I wanted it, I would have told him…so even though he never asked me (as he said that they do), he wanted to act like this was my fault that he now needed to correct his mistake? Nahhh…I don’t think so.
He just stood there like a deer in headlights so I just said to him, please make my sub the way so want it, or give me my money back, to which he copped a nasty attitude and went to the cash register…he couldn’t even figure out how to refund me properly…
In the hospitality industry, this is NOT how you treat a guest. You NEVER handle something like this the way he did.
I hope the franchise owner sees this because you can never let a guest walk out this angry when it was your own staff’s fault to begin with.
I’m not the type to ever leave this type of review, but I’m just sick and tired of this new version of entitled millennials, who act like they are doing a customer a favor in doing their job, want to get tipped for everything including just handing you a sub, (don’t even get me started on that), and just have zero pride in their work…yet feel like they are “entitled” to $15-$20/hour…GTFOH
I will never visit this...
Read moreI enjoyed the food, but did not enjoy the customer service at this particular location. It was my first time to Jersey Mike's and at this location it apparently has a different ordering format than other places so I felt confused about the ordering process. Here, you order your sandwich and bread type, but don't give them the specifics of what you want on it until after the order is purchased and they call you to ask about your sandwich. I did not know this and so when I tried ordering all at once instead of simply directing me on the process everyone had a sort of humorous atmosphere and said you can order it at "the end". Okay so I go to the checkout and as I'm paying the lady says, "would you like anything else?" In my mind.. this is "the end" so I of course say, "Yes, I'd like it Mike's way please." I can't explain the atmosphere then but it got uncomfortable real fast as everyone just pauses and looks at me. Then a guy says, "Hey bud, she's asking if you'd like to add a chip or a drink" then they all look at each other like I'm the one who's weird. Overall just left a bad impression and made me feel unwelcome. I ended up going to a different Jersey Mike's because I liked what I ordered, but didn't want to go to the same place and the guy there was accommodating, polite, and even went out of his way to explain the different options when he saw I was a little hesitant without prompting from me. Hollywood I would suggest just being more patient with your first time customers. If someone bumbles in there looking like they don't know your particular routine.. ... .. it's because they don't. Help them out without the condescending attitude. Out of the five staff that were there only this white young guy with his hat flipped back felt welcoming...
Read moreLast night, me and my husband and my daughter came into Jersey Mike’s about 8:30, closing time is 9pm it’s about 5-7 people in front of us okay cool, no worries. We decided to do a giant sandwich we asked for turkey and cheese maybe about 5 to 7 minutes standing in line. The guy yell out exact change ONLY, who carries exact change OK cool no worries. We was using debit card maybe five minutes after that I noticed he said it was no lettuce so me and another customer asked no lettuce he said yeah it’s no lettuce. I’m like but that’s what makes the sandwich cool still no worries so now it’s time to make my sandwich. He pulls my sandwich in front of me, I asked what kind of cheese is that he said provolone I asked him. When did we discuss? I want provolone cheese. My thing was how you gonna give me what you think I wanted. Yeah it was a BIG NO for me. I walked out, then one of the workers yelled out in a sarcastic manner. Have a good day. No, you have a better day at closing time they’re ready to leave and they do not care about the customers or their well-being. That night shift is horrible. It’s the two guys with the dreads and I think one of them is a manager...
