I guess when you come in as a regular customer and not for special events, the quality drops exponentially.
When I visited around noon on a Saturday, I was really shocked to see how limited their donut selection was. I was also annoyed to see that they were combining trays as they ran out, so the signs didn't match up to the selection. Combining trays is also a big cross contamination risk for anyone with allergies, and struck me as very careless.
That alone would've been bad enough, but then I cut into the blueberry fritter I ordered to find that the center was raw. I wish I'd grabbed a photo, but I was so grossed out that I just wanted it off my table. It was complete squishy dough mush. At least they didn't try to charge us for it.
At this point I was done with the entire experience, but I tried some of the honey bun my table ordered. It was dry and pretty bland. Honestly, you'd be better served buying a Little Debbie for this quality. The only thing that was passable was the homefries and the water.
Aside from the subpar food, the restaurant itself was hot and pretty dirty. Tons of crumbs on the floor and the only open table was a left a mess - the staff sitting at one of the tables chatting didn't bother wiping it down until we specifically asked to sit. With the price of the donuts here, this is absolutely not worth it. Save yourself the trouble and go to a Dunkin...

I have visited The Hollywood Donut Factory twice, with both visits being at least a year apart. Unfortunately, my experiences were consistently disappointing due to poor customer service, despite the doughnuts themselves being decent.
On both occasions, I was not greeted upon entering the restaurant. The staff exhibited a negative demeanor while I was ordering, which made the experience uncomfortable from the start. There are no clear signs indicating the policy for takeout customers regarding seating.
While waiting for my order, I sat at one of the tables. The staff began giving me uncomfortable looks and eventually approached to inform me that I could not sit at the tables if I was not dining in. This policy was not communicated when I entered or ordered, which would have been helpful.
The way the staff conveyed this information was also lacking in customer service skills. They approached me in a manner that made me feel unwelcome, rather than politely explaining the policy.
Overall, the lack of clear communication and the unfriendly service have led me to decide not to return to The Hollywood Donut Factory. While the doughnuts are not bad, the poor service outweighs the quality...
Read moreWe’re locals who have been coming here for the past 6 years, back when it was called Dandee Donuts. I don’t know why it took me so long to leave a review because our family LOVES this place. All the servers are so nice and attentive, the owner is very involved and welcoming to all. Their food is great, affordable and comes out fast. My kids rave about the pancakes which are a fluffy cake texture and come with a little strawberry and mint leaf. Donuts are amazing with a huge variety to choose from and they’re actually made in house. (Try the blueberry sour cream). On a slow day they let my boys see the factory area in the back where they make all the donuts, which they absolutely loved. My oldest wouldn’t stop talking about it for days after. If you’ve ever watched the show Gilmore Girls, this diner/donut factory has a similar cozy feeling to Luke’s Diner. It’s the place you go to start your day off right and chat with other locals while sipping a cup of fresh brewed coffee. They also offer take out which my husband often does on Saturdays. He’ll pick up a dozen donuts, breakfast sandwiches, and a box of coffee for his coworkers. For many reasons, we highly recommend the Hollywood...
