CAVA — Restaurant in Homewood

TLDR: Don't trust the online ordering. Also, don't expect an apology when it doesn't work.

My family has ordered food from here twice. First, I'll say something good. The food we got the first time was delicious.

However ...

On our first visit, I arrived 10 minutes after our order was supposed to be ready. They hadn't started on it yet and it took nearly 15 minutes for them to get to it. It's a new place, so I figured this was them going through growing pains. Not a big deal.

However ...

The next time we ordered take out online, they had no record of the order at all. I showed the staff the order confirmation and the order number, but they were confused as to what to do about it, and worse, they didn't seem that concerned. Had someone just said "I'm sorry" I probably wouldn't be writing this review.

The manager (who said he was filling in) said I could put in an order and they'd make it, but didn't offer to do anything to make up for their mistake. Frustrated, I walked out, and it's a good thing or we would have wound up paying for the same food twice. When my wife checked our credit card, the charge had gone through. We're now challenging it with our credit card company.

Judging by some of the other reviews, our experience here was not uncommon. This seems to be a recurring issue.

I hope they get these problems under control (and also learn a little about customer service) but for the time being, I'd be wary of getting take out from here until they...

The food and service at this restaurant were exceptional! Upon entering, my wife and I found the restaurant clean and were greeted with smiles by Pam and Rob. They were extremely patient and accommodating, providing suggestions and answering all of our questions regarding the food. My wife and I were seated and eating within five minutes of placing our order. The food was so good that I had to order something for my mom. When placing the second order, I was greeted with the same legendary customer service from Pam and Rob, this time assisted by Lando! This young man handled preparing my food, washing his hands, and taking my payment within minutes. Considering how hard it is to receive good customer service nowadays, it was refreshing to be in the presence of Pam, Rob, and Lando!

As for the food, I would choose it over Chipotle any day! I had the Greek Salad bowl. When I say it was good, I truly mean it! The chicken was cooked to the perfect temperature, so it was not dry, and it was seasoned to perfection. All of the other ingredients (olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, hummus, tzatziki sauce, etc.) mixed with the Greek Vinaigrette dressing burst with flavors that uniquely satisfied my palate. Everything was fresh. I can’t forget about the Cucumber, Lime, Mint juice and Blueberry soda; they were delightfully refreshing!

I also have to recognize Ms. Dot (the manager) for her leadership, which had a positive impact on my experience. Kudos to this team—they are...

I have been here twice so far and the first time it was ok, the second time I ordered more food.

First the star, best Pita Chips I have ever had. Nice and cruncy on the outside and tastes like you're biting into a cloud on the inside. I never understood people's love for Pita chips until I had these. Special.

I also ordered a Crispy Falafel wrap with - Falafel, Traditional Hummus, Cabbage Slaw, Grilled Chicken, Tzatziki, Tomato + Cucumber, Crumbled Feta, Greek Vinaigrette, Lentil Tabbouleh, Pita Crisps, Tahini Caesar, Roasted Eggplant Dip -

As you can see they have many options to customized and try and I love these. Will keep me coming back trying new things and new combinations. The first Pita Wrap I created and tried I did not like but the last one I tried I liked. I feel there's a combination there that will make me love it.

Overall the Pita Wraps are good and served with fresh ingredients. No where near as good as the Pita Chips. If they can take the Pita Chips and wrap the ingredients in the chips, this would be exceptional.

Great spot, parking in the area is hit or miss and you may struggle to find a place to park at times.
