Came with SO for their Bottomless Tapas Brunch. It's $48 a person (plus tax and tips, of course) for unlimited mimosas with bottomless brunch and $35 for just Bottomless Brunch. What's kind of amusing to me is they put big bold "complimentary mimosas" on the menu even though it really isn't technically, not without a bunch of strings, as obvious in the pricing. Somebody needs to explain to them what "complimentary" means, ha.
They do take reservations and I would recommend making one if you are set on eating there but don't want to wait. We didnt have a reservation but got lucky and was able to sit down right away. This was a bit past 10:30am on a Sundsy morning and the place was over 90% full. Staff there are super nice and efficient, definitely 5 stars there.
This being my first time there, I tried as many dishes as I could. A huge fan of the fried green tomato, steak biscuit, and beignets. Got multiple of these and would definitely recommend.
Thought the bacon and sausage balls, shrimp and grits, and the fish were terrible. Bacon is floppy and I am a crispy girl, so that's definitely a personal preference thing and you may love it. The girt cake in the shrimp and grits were cold and hard, a definite no. The fish was over fried. Another thing of note is that at not even 11am (and their brunch runs from 10am to 2:30am), they were already out of the quail and almost out of the parfait and the oysters. So if you come at noon, you are already down three things you probably wanted to at least try! That's definitely a problem IMO. These factors caused me to feel like 4-stars is the best I can do, especially considering the cost.
However, if you have never been, I would definitely recommend you to give them a try! Thr stuff that's good are really good and you could just fill up...
Read moreLet me start off by saying that anyone looking for a lesson in customer relations and impeccable service needs to call up Taylor and the staff of Soho Standard. Top notch all the way around and I'll be telling everyone I know every chance I get, how amazing we were treated during our 1st experience at Soho Standard.
My wife, son & I arrived on a busy Saturday night around 6:30 and were able to snag the last open table without a wait. Our server Chris was very prompt and courteous and we had our drinks in front of us in no time.
There happened to be an issue with the building near where we were seated that was completely not the fault of the establishment. We requested to move tables but there were none available so we accepted three seats at the bar. Soon after we moved, the owner, whose name I found out to be Taylor Hughes, came to offer his apologies for something that mind you, was not the restaurant's fault at all. This kind gentleman comped our family's meals and also gave us a gift card for future use which was completely unsolicited for on our part, but Taylor insisted we accept along with his apologies for the inconvenience.
This was the most perfect example of exceptional customer service I have ever experienced at a dining establishment, not to mention perhaps anywhere for that matter. I implore anyone reading this to please give Soho Standard your patronage as I promise you will not regret it.
The service and kindness we experienced definitely overshadowed the meal we ordered, but just like the aforementioned service our meal was excellent down to the very last bite.
Needless to say, we will become regulars at Soho Standard for many years to come. Thank you Taylor and...
Read moreI have always enjoyed eating here but tonight I'm disgusted by the service I recieved. The female manager on duty tonight was beyond rude to me. I placed an order over the phone while in route to the restaurant. When I arrived at the restaurant my son loves to get out and pay for the food so I let him (this is one of his favorite restaurant) .He got out to pay for the order. He came back out to the car to inform me that the food was not ready yet but he was going to head back in and wait for the food. After several of minutes waiting on him to come back out he finally showed up with the food. I immediately got the food to look at it and make sure everything was right. So I picked the black bean patty up to bite a piece of it. My food was extremely cold. My son jumps out of the car to let them know how cold the food was. Well they took him for a joke and accused my child for the food being cold. He came to the car very angry and explaining how rude they were treating him. I drove off because I just didn't want to deal with it. While I was driving a light bulb came on and I called back to the restaurant asking to speak to the manager and she got on the phone. I explain to her my problem and she was very rude to me and didn't apologize one time. I dont remember the manager name but she is the worse. I was disrespected so bad till I would never eat at this restaurant. I dont care how much I enjoy eating here, I want be back. I'm very hurt and was treated with nothing but straight disrespect. I really had to be disrespected to type...
