Today is my birthday so why not post a birthday food review. I got the chance to check out Simone’s Kitchen and Cocktails (last week) and here's how my visit went. Walked in decorations were nice well painted loved the mural of the restaurant. I did a call in order and was told it would be ready at 5:15pm (it was not). It took probably another 15 minutes or so but I wasn't stressing. I will wait for good food. One employee I guess was late for her shift came in loud and cursing. Personally not something I'd do in front of a customer but hey didn't bother me. I guess she felt comfortable. So I got my food and headed back home. First up was the Hot Honey Lemon Pepper Wings. Yall these things were pure fire! Seasoned well and the sauce was a banger! I don't often lick my fingers but I was not letting that sauce go to waste. I would legit buy a bottle of that sauce alone. The only down part is I couldn't taste the lemon pepper but I don't even care them wings was too good! 9.8/10 I also got Wings on the Bayou which was just whole fried wings and a sweet and spicy sauce on the side. Aye look them wings were seasoned perfectly and were definitely crunchy and not soggy somebody auntie was back there with the arm fat. I had completely forgot I even had the sauce. I ate them without it lol. 10/10 Then we have the Jerk Chicken Egg Rolls. This was by far my least favorite. The egg rolls were hot and crunchy but the inside fell flat. Bland and very dry. But when I dipped it into the jerk sauce stuff on the side it truly saved it for me. Without the sauce 5/10 with the sauce brought it to a solid 8/10 yes the sauce was that good and carrying it. The fries were just fries. They had some sort of seasoning but it was bland and couldn't taste whatever it was. I just dipped them in the ranch they gave me with the chicken and moved on. 5/10 Now I had no idea they made their own lemonade blends until I got there. The lady at the counter said at that time they had two flavors so I bought both. The first one was some sort of mango lemondae. I am not a fan of mangos so for me to say this was good means a lot and it gets a 8/10 a mango person would probably give it a 10/10. And the pink one I can't remember what flavor it was idk if it was strawberry or what but it was by far my favorite. Easy 10/10 if they sold this by the gallon I'd definitely buy it! All in all my experience was great I enjoyed my food and definitely plan to go back and get more wings and that lemondae. I hope to make it to the brunch one day as well. Yall go check this place out for me support this local black owned business they are putting out great food and deserve to be supported.

First time dining here… I had high hopes but I was not satisfied. We ordered the jerk egg rolls and the sauce was tasty and the stuffing for the egg rolls was tasty BUT the egg roll wrap tasted sweet (like cinnamon sugar sweet). For me the flavors were isolated and didn’t mix well. For entrees we ordered the catfish which was fried well but under seasoned (served with two sides) Mac and cheese and fried lemon pepper okra (burned). We also ordered the fries topped with Alfredo sauce, sausage and shrimp. Just like the egg rolls the flavors with the fries did not blend. The Bayou fries could’ve been really good but they lacked flavor. Our server was great (Michael). While we were there a live DJ set up and started playing music in the downstairs “red room” area. This restaurant had more of an Event Center vibe more than a restaurant to me.

The food here was great. Had the Cajun Pasta Trio, Seafood Stuffed Grilled Cheese and the Buffalo Chicken Eggrolls. It all was on point. The grilled cheese lived up to its name and was cooked exceptionally. The Buffalo Chicken Eggrolls were not mostly filler with a small amount of chicken but rather packed with chicken served with a side of the tangy Cajun sauce that amplified the flavor. The Cajun Pasta Trio was loaded with shrimp, sausage and chicken that were all cooked amazing and tossed in a cream sauce that is pretty much Alfredo with some Cajun spices. Still it was a meal well worth it. The wait ended up being a little longer than anticipated but when you're getting made to order food, you have to live with that. Next on the list will be the bayou fries and cajun chicken tacos. This place is a must for Birmingham

First time going in was Mother’s Day weekend (Centerpoint Location) . My nephew treated my mom, my sister and I .We waited 20-30 mins just for someone to take our drink order . I had the salmon croquettes w/grits and eggs rate 5/10 because the salmon was salty but they gave you plenty of food . My mom had pork chops , okra and mac n cheese rate 8/10 she wasn’t expecting the music and club type scenario but her food was delicious she said . My sister and nephew both had chicken Alfredo 10/10 . I tasted her noodles and sauce after she kept saying it was sooooo good . My sister and I shared a flight of lemon drops but the syrup/ puree they use was at the bottom know matter how much you stirred but were good and felt , lol. My nephew had a sweet tea he said it tasted like water so he tried strawberry lemonade after my mom told him it was good and they both agreed . I took my daughter home the Cajun trio and she said it was good … fast forward to this week we live in McCalla so it’s about 30-45 min drive to restaurant .. my daughter wanted some and I was like hey i can try the alfredo this time . First when we got there order was lost or some kept asking am i a dasher I was like no i ordered it online spent 55$ for Cajun trio and chicken Alfredo ok finally 10 mins later food came out … fine no biggie didn’t fuss or etc checked food head home … I get home started eating that chicken Alfredo was sooo salty that my lips was chapped or irritated because of it … I was so disappointed I texted my sister and told her .. she was like both times i had it the guy is cooking . I was like idk who cooked but they poured a thing of salt in this Alfredo ,lol. Smh anyways so it will be a while before i return because i definitely wasted my funds and gas . Couldn’t even eat the alfredo scared it was going to give me high blood pressure and plenty of grease/butter was in...
