Double Three — Restaurant in Honolulu

Bubble waffles, yes please! This popular snack from Hong Kong and Macau is ono! We also had this snack on Jeju-do, in south korea. Double three serves three different flavors of bubble waffle, original, matcha and chocolate. The waffles can be ordered with or without ice cream and toppings. When you order with ice cream, that also includes 2 toppings and a syrup. We went for the whole nine yards, original bubble waffle, ice cream flavor of the day - matcha green tea, almond chips, pocky and choco syrup. It was one delicious snack, the waffle is crispy, not soggy! We definitely want to come back to try the other bubble waffle flavors & combinations. The price is a bit expensive, especially when compared to how much it costs abroad. But, support local small businesses, hawai'i is stupidly expensive. & it's great to splurge on yummy food...

Reasonably priced fun ice cream in a bubble waffle with a few toppings. Would have given 5 stars, but the limited time special flavor “cookie monster” that was labeled to taste like cookie dough and oreo, tasted completely like coconut. An odd flavor that is not present according to the menu, but a friend of mine and her niece ordered the same flavor, and confirmed the flavor was not as described. We brought up the disappointment and opinion to the owner (i believe) and he took it as if he really cared about our business and offered to make a new one, but we declined because we were not in the mood for another, plus the taste of it wasn’t disgusting, just edible so we stated we could just finish it… He assured us we could come back another time for a redo of another flavor to our liking. Honestly, I think we have been blown away by ice cream shops on Oahu that maybe we set our selfs up to be disappointed. We paid about $15 for two ice creams in a cup, we got birthday cake flavor ice cream with sprinkles and it tasted overly artificial & wasn’t great. There was I believe vanilla/chocklate and one other special flavor, maybe we should have gone with vanilla? We also were pretty disappointed that there was no tables or chairs to sit and enjoy our ice cream. Which I understand there is not really room, but eating ice cream in the car isn’t ideal with kids. Overall I wish we had known and would have tried a different place (while this parking lot wasn’t an issue the connecting packing lot had a lot of homeless and users that it didn’t make us want to sit...
