Ha Long Pho Noodle House — Restaurant in Honolulu

The customer service was mediocre. The food was alright, not as hyped out as the other people who have raved about the food. Being born and raised in California, I have high expectations when it comes to pho, and being here on the island I figured it would be even more fresh with fresh seafood 🤷‍♀️ We ordered the seafood pho, pork fried rice, chicken fried rice, BBQ chicken plate and fresh summer rolls. The BBQ chicken plate was pretty good. I personally thought the fried rice was too salty, and it was difficult to differentiate the pork and chicken fried rice with the way the meat was cut.

Customer Service - is a huge factor aside from the presentation and taste of the food. I was a bit annoyed that it took a while for the waitress to come back to take our orders. As we sat and waited for our food, I noticed two different groups of customers coming in, and noticed the waitress had taken the second groups orders before the first group, whole both were waiting for their orders to be taken. A third group came in, sat down, asked for a menu, and then the waitress never came back. They ended up walking out of the restaurant when I finally received my summer rolls, and even then, no one went to check to see if they were ready to order.

I am here once again for vacation and trying to find good local spots, while hoping to find my favorite foods in places I visit. Unfortunately, this will not be a place I'll be...

Ha Long Pho is one of my "go to" stops when I'm home...and as always, the ono grindz did not disappoint!!!

Summer Rolls: Very large!!! I don't remember them being as full as they were today...not sure if it was a mistake, or a new recipe. As I remember it was so fresh filled with crispy veggies!!! Definitely a 10/10!!!

Seafood Pho: When it's an option, I always order seafood Pho! For those of you who know how to eat Pho, you know that beef broth is a must, no matter what style Pho you order. Most places I have to ask for beef broth as it often comes with a vegetable broth...but here, it automatically comes with beef broth. And the seafood was not chewy. I would have loved to see some other seafood represented (it only had fishcake balls and shrimp) but it didn't take away from the healthy portion and umami flavor!!! 9/10 (Only because of the variety of seafood.)

COVID Protocols: I felt very comfortable at Ha Long Pho, they require proof of vaccine, or negative COVID test, to enter...and...instead of your spices being left on the table, they are pulled after each guest, I can only assume to sanitize before the next guest uses it. 10/10 for sanitation...

We visited Ha Long Pho Noodle House (1414 Dillingham Blvd STE 101, Honolulu, HI 96817) on July 4, 2025, as a family, and our experience was extremely disappointing. We came to have lunch as a group of six, including children. The hostess informed us that there were no tables available for six and that they needed to prepare one, which is understandable. However, we were asked to wait outside in the parking lot, despite the hot weather and the presence of children. This was inconvenient and unpleasant. After waiting for five minutes, we asked if we could wait inside, where, by the way, it was almost empty—only four customers in the dining area. But the hostess categorically refused and insisted that we continue waiting outside. This kind of treatment toward a family with children is absolutely unacceptable. We felt no hospitality or willingness to accommodate us. In the end, we left because we didn’t want to tolerate such service. I do not recommend Ha Long Pho Noodle House if you value respectful treatment...
