Underdogs Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Honolulu

I’ve been coming here for about 2 years and so far it’s been gd service and food But tonight (Wednesday 09/11/24) , I came in right after work I had a long day and I just wanted a two shots before heading home . So I came in and I seen a young bartender she seen me walk in and turned around and act like she didn’t see me then she went talk to her friends then came around the bar and was texting on her phone for about 5 minutes or a bit longer in front of all the customers sitting at the bar . I sat there for about 10 minutes waiting to be greeted or acknowledged. Then she FINALLY came over and asked if I needed anything LOL ( what a joke ) im watching her pour she clearly short me on my pour on purpose she already had a STINK attitude and STINK VIBE . ( not gd for business ) . She then gave me my check and dropped on the table and walked away not even a word “ sorry about the wait , I was texting “ lol . It’s hilarious. You lose regulars and you make no tips . They need to fire her bc if I was the manager I would’ve fired her on the spot very unprofessional. I did not feel welcomed . It’s a sports bar - with no beer on tap. Odd. We ordered food. I’ve not had poorer food presented ever - that I can recall. I ordered Calamari that was very tough and very tasteless. I think this is Calamari that has been pre-cooked and likely reheated at least once if not more. It was served with a “cocktail sauce” that seemed mostly ketchup. There was also another “dip” that was mostly a melted mystery cheese… lonely Velveeta. We ordered the nachos. A nice stack with jalapeños, black olives and all - but drizzled again with the same mystery, liquid cheese rather than simple, proper cheddar or Monterey Jack. Something other than cheese you could drink with a straw. Come on! We also ordered Tater Tots - which is something hard to ruin. Thankfully no liquid cheese on that. All needed is salt and maybe ketchup. I hope the locals like this place - but to me it was embarrassing. Really. I would never go back and never recommend it. There’s a Burger King...

This hole in the wall sports bar is great! Reminds me of a smaller version of Home Bar & Grill. Does look a bit sketchy on the outside but it's clean and trendy on the inside. Came here for a friend's birthday on a Sunday night. I forget why, but the place was super busy and there was only 1 server. Poor girl! I would think another staff member would have been called to help with the crowd, but nope. Even tho service was slow, the atmosphere and music helped. The food here is delicious!!
