Had our second flight cancelled and we got “stuck” Hawaii! Not a bad a place to be stuck. 😂 We of course went on an eating mission for the entire time we were there. If you ever have a cancelled flight, make sure the airline pays for your hotel, taxi, and food vouchers! They might also owe you money just for cancelling more than a few hours. Currently looking into this. 🙂 📍 shimazu shave ice 📍Pipeline Bakeshop & Creamery for lihing malasadas and guava cake bombs. 📍Beer lab for ube beer. Really wanted to try the ume seltzer but it wasn’t on tap. 🥲 📍Mama Wood’s for meat jun (Hawaiian korean recipe) 📍Pint & Jigger for cocktails at our hotel. 📍 Musubi Cafe 📍Off The Hook for ginger poke! #taklyntheworld #hawaiieats #oahuhawaii #oahufood #oahufoodie #travelforfood #travelduos #prettylittletrips #cancelledflight #hawaiitrip #hawaiifoodie #postcardplaces #traveltheworld #travelbug

I've been meaning to try Pipeline Bakeshop for a while... It's usually a bit inconvenient for me to come through this area. I'm hardly ever in the Kaimuki area, just usually passing through... if that. We needed some dessert this time and were heading through town from the Windward side so Pipeline was a good option for a quick stop. Slow down or you will miss the storefront on Waialae Ave. Parking is a pain in the @$$...well it's generally non existent...lol. Best thing is to have stay whit the car, while some else goes in and orders. Not a lot of room inside, the venue is on the smaller side. Lots of swag and goodies. No Ice Cream sampling as of this review. They are known for the "Cake Bombs" #Sugar: ~ MALASADA BREAD PUDDING - 3.5/5 I had high expectations of this... It sounded absolutely amazing on paper! But for us it was a bit better than OK in reality. The flavor profile is similar to a Cinnamon Bun, but far lighter and not a sugar bomb. We could hardly taste anything at the first bite, however it got better the more we ate. ~ CAKE BOMB: - MATCHA GREEN TEA - 4.5/5 This was amazing! It is a bit on the sweeter side, I suggest trying some of the other flavors before you get to this one. The Matcha is also a bit strong, so the entire flavor profile can be a bit overpowering. - STRAWBERRY GUAVA - 4/5 While this was good, we couldn't really taste the Guava. The Strawberry was overpowering, there was maybe a hint of Guava here and there.

Cute bakery and super friendly staff! We ordered a few different items and I will start with the Lililkoi ice tea. We ordered the large for $3.50 and I really wanted to like it, but it didn't have much flavor. The 16oz cup was filled with ice and the tea was poured over the ice, I tasted it right away because I was afraid that after the ice melts the flavor would be diluted (but there wasn't much flavor to begin with and would only give it a 1 star). We also ordered the Malasadas (the sign says they are fresh baked) and they were warm when we walked out of the bake shop. They are similar to the type that you get at Leonard's Bakery. We ate them as soon as we stepped out and found them very tasty. The last two items we brought home to eat. First the Malasada bread pudding, DELICIOUS (definitely 5 STARS). The gal who helped us said it would be best if it were warm, so we put it in the microwave for 20 seconds (so good). The last thing we purchased was a Strawberry cake bomb (was not a favorite), will not purchase again. The light colored cake was super soggy and didn't have any flavor, although the light frosting was good, had a hint of strawberry flavor (1 star). I will go back for the Malasada Bread Pudding and the Malasadas, and look forward to trying some of their other items. (The Lilikoi cream cheese bar, Ube Haupia Mac Nut Bar, and the cookies look really good).

OMG! I’ve lived here in Oahu now, for exactly two yrs this month, and I had to learn about Pipeline thru someone from a YouTuber! I got there at 10:30am, Wed the 10th, and a line had formed inside the bakery. I was pleasantly surprised that they sold several different types of desserts, all of them looking delicious. I was focused on the Malasadas. SOFT, PILLOWY, fresh, and delicious! I chose original, cinnamon, and the special of the day, Ube. What was most impressive was the young girl that moved and took care of everyone, from getting our orders, to ringing up purchased items, to boxing up displayed pastries, to helping a customer with a Pipeline Tshirt ( he didn’t want it because it wasn’t turquoise blue like the display, only white was available. Her name was “TAYLOR” - I know cause I asked what her name was. She took care and handled every customer, every purchase with ease and wasn’t anxious- she was downright nice to everyone. Wow! You guys at Pipeline are lucky to have her! Kudos to you, Taylor, and thank you Piepline for the unforgettable malasadas. Will definitely be my “go to” for...
