Heard about this place from a friend and just by chance was in the area when I was looking for a place to have lunch. Now to be totally honest, ramen is not on the top of my lists of things to eat. I like it, but just don't go out of my way for it. Plus, Honolulu is over saturated with ramen places and all claim to have something unique and mystical about there broth.

They way that I would describe Noods Ramen Bar is that it is a contemporary take ramen. Noods isn't trying to push the same old same old as something unique, they are creating unique. Lots of unique combinations and flavors.

I was torn between the Spicy Thai Curry Ramen and the Birria Ramen. Both are not traditional by any means and the combination of flavors along with their ingredients sounded amazing. Those who know me, know that the Spicy Thai Curry Ramen won. It was a great choice and I was very satisfied.

Also got the Dynamite Shrimp Tempura and Goyza as appetizers. Both were really good and tasty, but the goyza looked as if it was just dumped on the plate with no care for the presentation. No matter, it was a good combination of appetizers to go for. Kind of basic choices, but I was with a friend that isn't into trying things that weren't vanilla. They had several other things that I would have preferred to try like the Kimchi Potsickers, Quail Ajitama and /or Corn Tempura.

One thing that really stood out for me, was how friendly and attentive the staff were. We were attended by two different people throughout our lunch and both were supper nice and professional. It was nice to see during these times where service seems to be rapidly declining. Kudos to the manager for hiring and training them and thank you to nice staff that helped...

Beware if ordering via phone! Food was good, but not worth the experience. I was very excited to try this place after hearing good things, but my experience was off-putting, to say the least. Called to place an order for takeout using the number on the Noods website. Arrived at the restaurant and was told by the host that "Oh yeah, this has happened before" and my order had actually been placed with Noods' sister restaurant (Osoyama) "just down the street". Come to find out that the error is due to Noods having the wrong phone number listed on their website. If this has happened before and the restaurant is aware, it shouldn't happen again. You would think that correcting a phone number on a website would be an easy fix... When I asked if I could just cancel my order and reorder in person at the location I was currently at, I was told by the host that he would have to check if the meal was already prepared at the sister restaurant. I waited as he called the sister restaurant and said "Oh, the food is already ready. I'll just send her down." I'm not a delivery driver! I had already driven to the location I wanted to order from, found parking, and walked inside, only to be sent to a different location 10 minutes away! Upon arriving at the sister restaurant, I explained the situation and the hostess there said she would inform her manager. Perhaps I'm entitled, but I have to say, I expected something more for the inconvenience. I eagerly declined to receive a customer rewards card -- no need, as I don't plan to return. I'm all for supporting small businesses during this difficult time, but this one left a lot to be desired from a customer service standpoint and won't be receiving any further...

My husband and I came here on a whim while visiting Hawaii. It was a full restaurant despite being a Tuesday night. I’ve tried many different ramen places, from back in my hometown (ny) to Japan. I had the black garlic tonkotsu ramen and it was one of the best ramen I have tried so far. My husband got the Japanese curry chicken ramen which he also enjoyed very much. The gentleman serving us was phenomenal. The only downside was that they had run out of their garlic fried rice. We loved the ramen so much that we decided to come back the next day (today).

Moving forward to today, the restaurant was packed yet again but we were able to be seated pretty soon. Unfortunately, the experience was not as great as the night before. Not only were they still unable to serve garlic fried rice, but they also ran out of the chicken katsu. We ended up getting the chicken chashu instead but it was not that good. The gentleman serving us was great as usual despite running what seemed like most if not the entire busy restaurant. The hostess, however, dropped off our check about 10 minutes into us enjoying our ramen, which we felt was pretty rude as we were still eating.

Overall, we enjoyed the ramen and the server was great, but there is some room for...

With the high ratings and the hype, I was really looking forward to trying Noods, but ultimately the experiences fell flat. I should preface by saying that we’ve been searching for Oahu’s best ramen since moving here from Japan, so the bar is definitely high. The hostess was very kind, and the service was quick, but the food itself left a quite a bit to be desired. First, aside from being very bland, the meat in my bowl was still room temperature, if not a little chilly. The soup itself was also not very warm. The noodles themselves seemed to be good quality, which seems like a must if it’s the name of your restaurant. The soup is the soul of the bowl, and unfortunately it was pretty lifeless to me. Good, but definitely not great. We got both the tonkatsu and the black garlic tonkatsu, and both left something to be desired… like robust, memorable flavor. The black garlic almost just tasted burnt/charred, so the regular tonkatsu was the more enjoyable of the two. The goyoza was also nothing special, unfortunately. Three stars instead of four, because a 4.6 is much too high a rating for this forgettable ramen. Again, excellent service and a very clean and lovely environment though! Wish I could rate it higher.

Visited a friend nearby and we decided to just try this place out. Little did we know that we'd be blown away by the food, and will make it a point to come back and try again soon! We ordered 3 different ramen dishes, myself getting the tsukumen dipping noodles. The broth was deliciously salty. Now when you ask for spicy, they provide you with Powdered chili spice, which is available on each table. That. Ish. Is. SPICY 🔥🔥🔥. Like burn your boots hole spicy. And I love it. Like it had great flavor and burn. My friends also enjoyed their own ramen dishes. We also got a few apps to share. The karaage chicken was okay, but I assume would be better if eaten fresh in house. The takoyaki was pretty good. But the winner - the winner was the ginger scallion gyoza. With we got 2 orders cause we were fighting over those. Like I said, all the food was delish so we're going to eat in house soon. The vibes seemed great, and the front of house were pretty friendly when I picked up my food. I feel like it was either the manager or owner who helped get my food, but his demeanor and service helped convince me to wanna come back.

10/2023: Returned once again to try their cajun shrimp ramen. The broth was extremely thick and tasted a bit weird for this one. It had a very basic taste (in terms of pH), it almost tasted soapy in some bites. It got better after adding a couple of scoops of the spicy powder but it would have been preferable if it tasted fine from the get-go. My dining partner got the tsukemen and it tasted better, despite being extremely salty. Both of our dishes had noodles that didn’t feel very fresh and were almost on the hard side. For the price, could have used more toppings. 11/2022: This time I went with a safe pick, the black garlic tonkotsu. Good tasting broth and good quality noodles. Service was pretty fast. 4/2022: Interesting ramen place. We got their pesto ramen and birria ramen. For both of them, the broth was decent, noodles had good texture, and tasty toppings. Fair price for what you get. Definitely some inventive flavors that may or may not hit the mark.
