Timmy T's Gourmet Grinders Sandwich Shop — Restaurant in Honolulu

We got in around 10 this morning and the place was pretty empty. We were greeted right away by several employees and they were super patient with us while we decided on our sandwiches. As soon as we ordered each sandwich the cashier relayed it to the long line of workers who added components to the sandwich as it was passed down the line. After it was wrapped up they launched it with a delicate throw back to the front of the line behind the register--truly an impressive show of teamwork and efficiency. The food was delicious. It had the right amount of meat for our tweenager and our kid but I think next time my husband and I will opt to pay for extra meat. I have to say this is the best sandwich we've had on the island. We're from the mainland and we weren't used to such limited options in sandwiches but this compares to a few places we frequented back then. We liked how tasty the bread was though I have to mention my sandwich made me miss a dutch crunch loaf a bit. We could taste how fresh the rest of the ingredients are in the sandwich. My husband wished there was an option to add jalapenos but that's more preference than anything. Overall it was a really good meal that my entire family thoroughly enjoyed. We ate at Timmy T’s yesterday around 5pm because all of us were craving some sandwiches after playing tourist all day. We ultimately decided to try this place because we had heard good things but never experienced the place ourselves. There were 7 of us & while we were looking at the menu, the employee with a short pixie cut dyed blue (I’m going to assume was a female) was so rude to us as we asked questions about what we could or couldn’t add to our subs. While waiting for our food, that same employee began talking about my family right in front of them to another employee. During this side conversation with her coworker, my family thought they had been asked a question & when they realized they weren’t being spoken to the blue haired employee yelled at my family saying she wasn’t talking to them. Once we received our subs, the disappointment continued to grow with our experience. Our subs tasted great, but the amount of food for the price was not worth it at all. I could get a much larger, better tasting sub at the commissary for a lot less. Between 7 people we spent over $100 on 7 subs & 4 drinks. Save your time & money & go somewhere else. We will...

I cheated on my keto diet for for the GOODFELLA and boy was it worth it!😏🤤 Meat to bread ratio is on point (nothing worse than biting into bread for 15 minutes and never finding the filling). Bread is soft and FRESH! Veggies are fresh and crisp. Store is spotless, welcoming and bright. Staff is friendly, kind, thoughtful, happy and most importantly, FAST! And my favorite part of all was watching my 2 1/2 year old down a very large pickle without any inclination to share AND ask for another one when she was finished. I couldn’t agree with her more! They also carry HAWAIIAN brand kettle chips which everyone knows are they BEST! And HUGE amazing cookies!!!!
