Kokee Tea - Riverchase Galleria 2nd Floor — Restaurant in Hoover

I am very disappointed with my visit or should I say attempted visit at Kokee Tea. After shopping at several in-mall stores I decided that it was time to introduce my Mom who had also gone shopping with me to a Taro bubble tea. When we arrived I found myself paused outside the shop by the masks are required, I dug through my pocket only to discover that I had no mask currently on hand. After looking in vain for the mask dispenser Kokee usually would have available, I resorted to covering my face with my jacket sleeve. The funny thing is that my jacket sleeve is way thicker than any solo mask I have seen. After standing in line for a few minutes, I reached the counter only to be told that they couldn’t take my order since I lacked a mask which is really ridiculous for all I would’ve had to do at that point was mumble my order through my sleeve and then slip my choice of payment under the plastic barrier to the masked clerk and then wait outside the shop until my order was ready. So in the end I had to return to my Mom who had been currently talking to a fully vaccinated gentleman who had also been turned away for not having a mask. I recently visited Kokee Tea at the Riverchase Galleria and had a mixed experience.

On the positive side, the store was clean and well-organized, and they offer a solid range of drink options. I tried both the Cookies & Cream Tea and the Strawberry Tea, both were flavorful and refreshing. The variety on the menu is a definite plus, and the drinks themselves are well-made.

However, the customer service left much to be desired. Communication from the staff was not professional or welcoming, which affected the overall experience. A more courteous and friendly interaction would have made a big difference, especially in a public retail environment.

I’m giving two stars for the taste, cleanliness, and menu variety, but I do hope to see improvements in staff communication and customer engagement in the future. This location has potential, and with better service, it could be a much more enjoyable...

Love this place I travel an hour to get a brown sugar milk tea and my son and my daughter love some of their stuff too I just wish that they had more locations I mean that's really the only cookie tea we have in Alabama to my knowledge if they would have more set up around different areas say one in Gadsden you know some and the south part of Alabama as well. They would make a killing every time I go in there they are packed and lines out the yin yang to get their drinks and then of course people that live around there I think they do grub hub or doordash so they get the opportunity of having the stuff delivered to them where I live we don't have that so I just really wish they would put some spread across Alabama so other people can have the chance of trying those wonderful...
