Where to begin? I originally purchased a GE dryer from Lowe's off Valleydale from the sweetest folks on Earth cause my Whirlpool went out after 3 yrs and 2 mos- conveniently right after the manufacturer warranty expired. I hadn't bought a plan through Lowe's in 2022 when the last one was purchased, so I jumped the gun and bought a brand new GE through that Lowe's location again. My boss suggested I get a refund from Lowe's and pay a repair guy to come out and see if it was an easy and cheaper fix than buying a new one altogether. So I did that. Paid a repairman $100 to tell me the entire motor was dying and it would be just as cheap to buy a brand new dryer....after I'd already gotten a refund and canceled my delivery date with Lowe's. My boss then tells me Home Depot is cheaper so I go to this location and tell the guy I wanna buy the same GE dryer model I'd already bought at Lowe's the week prior. I tell him about how terrible my old Whirlpool was and he looks it up in the inventory to see which one I'm referring to. Mind you, I'd pointed out the GE model I wanted but when he rings me up, the price is about $50 less than at Lowe's so I pay and schedule my delivery and am on my way thinking nothing of it; my boss did say Home Depot was cheaper, after all. Fast forward to this past Tuesday when the delivery guys came. They narrowed it down to a 4 hr window and tried calling ahead, although my phone didn't ring, which was courteous of them. The first guy who came to the door who wasn't driving looked high as a kite. He tried to get my old dryer out of the laundry room within my bathroom by himself. I heard a bunch of clangin' and bangin' and eventually he peeked his head around the corner and said he was going to have to take the door off its hinges. The driver came in and they got the old dryer out and put the new one in. All the while, I'm working from home and not paying attention. They came out and said the transition tube (I think it's called) wouldn't fit. I came in to see and what did I find? The same exact shoddy Whirlpool I'd just had crap out on me after 3 yrs. That's right. The salesman had charged me for the wrong dryer. Makes sense why it was $50 less than the GE at Lowe's that I'd asked for...CAUSE IT WAS A DRYER WORTH $50 LESS. I. WAS. LIVID. The delivery driver asked if I wanted to have them take it back and call to get the right dryer re-delivered at a later date. Heck NO, I didn't. I'd been without a dryer for over two weeks by this point and I'm not trying to get raped and pillaged at a laundromat. That, plus if the cheap Whirlpool one was only $50 less than the GE at Lowe's then, presumably, the GE here would've been actually MORE expensive than Lowe's, not less. The funny part was that they claimed the new transition tube couldn't fit and spent about 20 mins trying to attach both ends. Finally, I reminded them it was the SAME MODEL DRYER so they could just use the old one from the last dryer. Guess who got to pay for a new tube they can't use and is just collecting dust in the laundry room? The icing on the cake was the mess they left behind. There was lint everywhere tracked through the place, they left packaging from the plug, the first guy made a huge dent in my bathroom wall trying to get the old dryer out before taking off the door and- when I told my maintenance guy (who came later to help) that I didn't want it coming out of my deposit after a half decade living there- the driver tried to deny it was their fault. I've lived there 6 yrs, dude. You think I dont know every nook and cranny of that house by now? Please. TL;DR I spent almost $900 to buy a $550 dryer I already had and didn't want from this Home Depot, paid for an unnecessary item I can't use, and now have a hole the size of a Toll House cookie in my bathroom wall. In an effort to be fair, I gave the place 2 stars because it's partially my fault for believing Alabamians could get a dryer delivery right in the first place.

Customer experience manager, says ‘customers must open the box and check any defects before picking up” Date: 3;30 pm, Monday, April 24, 2023 Location: Hoover (#0881), 3670 Galleria Circle, Birmingham, AL 35244 What happen; I ordered cabinets and other items at Home Depot at Galleria Circle, Hoover (#0881) on April 13, 2023. Two items were special order, so it was delivered about 10 days later. I visited Home depot on April 23, and confirmed all items will be ready for pickup at 10 am on Monday, April 24. I scheduled and paid my contractor to pick up the items and do his job on assembly and paint. When he picked, brought to his place, and opened the boxes there were cracks on one cabinet (36x34.5x24 in) and one decoration side panel (3x34.5x37.5 in). He took a couple of pictures. However, we can not retun them because my car is small, and should finish those work by that day. Even though I return, that special order items will be delivered 10 days later. I visited Home Depot ( Galleria Circle, Hoover #0881) and talked to Customer experience manager. I explained situation and asked partial credits. She said NO. She told me to bring those items in the boxes. I explained all situation and also said that I have to pay extra to my contractor to return those items. She said that you should bring it by yourself because those items should fit in any car. I said that my car is a small sedan. She said that it should fit I any car. It is NOT true. How can one cabinet (36x34.5x24 in) and one decoration side panel (3x34.5x37.5 in) fit in small sedan. Then, she said that “customers must open the box and check whether there are any defects before picking up”. This made me uncomfortable and upset. I never open the box at home depot before paying. Is this Home Depot policy for customers to open the box before picking up? Customer experience manager, made Home Depot lose 20 year loyal customer to the Lowes.

DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION IS A JOKE!!!!! The first delivery had to be rescheduled because the delivery team decided to come two hours outside of the given window. Once the appliances were finally delivered, two days later, I was informed that the team did not install yet I paid for an install. Got the reinstall scheduled and done, two days later, but what do I come home to, a poorly installed dishwasher. You could see the foam insulation and right through the cabinet once you managed to get the dishwasher door open. I was appalled at the installation. That’s was the last straw, I told Home Depot to come and get their appliances. After several days of talking to numerous representatives who told me very different things I finally get clarity. After two weeks of scheduled then internally rescheduled appointments without notice, I finally get a pick up. When I think the worst is over, I go to use the sink and the faucet is not working properly. I hear water running but can’t figure out where it’s coming from. Next thing I see is water dripping from the bottom of the cabinet. It wasn’t enough for the first delivery team to damage my walls taking out my old refrigerator, now I have water damaged cabinets and a leak. Home Depot, just hire professionals so the job is done correctly the first time. This is too much stress and headache for appliance delivery and installation!

DO NOT USE THIS STORE FOR LARGE CONSTRUCTION PURCHASES!!!!!! I went to this location almost two weeks ago to get all the items for a full upstairs renovation. Of course there was no help in lighting or flooring (they told me two people had quit along with others) so the assistant manager David helped us. I was blown away by David’s knowledge, patience, and willingness to help. We completed the order that night but there were still a few issues. I came in the next day and built the order with Tim (?) and lakesiha (?) at the pro desk. She was obviously newer as Tim had to walk her through the entire order including an extra Payment for delivering the items through one threshold in to our living room since we were both leaving to go out of state. The order was scheduled for Thursday. We had a group of people come help us out everything in storage Wednesday night to ensure that the area would be open for the delivery and contractors to get started. We called and spent a total of four hours on the phone on Wednesday and went to bed after hanging up around 2200 without resolution. We called Thursday morning and after another 2 hours on the phone discovered the order wouldn’t be arriving on Thursday. We spoke with Alaina who is the general manager. We also spoke with David the assistant manager who seemingly changed his tone. They promised a Friday morning delivery between 7-730. At 806 (i got a text at 814, 8 mins after that our order was on the way) my wife discovered the driver sitting at the neighbors house. The driver said his instruction was to deliver the items in the driveway. He refused to bring anything inside (understandably as he was by himself and this was well over $4000 material being delivered. I called Dan McGregor, apparently another manager, during all of this at 820 who informed me that he would call right back, I finally called him back at 9. The items are sitting in our open driveway, susceptible to theft and the rain that starts in 20 minutes, meanwhile we are still waiting on “resolution” or “the delivery company to send a few men out who can move the items interior”. My wife is now 2 hours late for an out of state trip and I am already in another state. This has been piss poor customer service. Take you business to Lowe’s or, better yet, support small town business and not this joke of a corporation. I will amend this and remove if they discount the order and follow through by backing the items in this order if stolen or...

I have never been so disrespected in my life as I have been from the workers at this store. First of all, I've been trying to have a flooring project completed for the past 2 months, and things didn't go as planned (no fault of Home Depot's, just found out late in the process that the flooring we bought would not work with our foundation). Anyways, after we found that out we've been trying to get in contact with the store and specifically the flooring department and NO ONE is ever working at the flooring desk. You call the store, get transferred to their phone, and 9/10 times they don't pick up. Then, that transfers you to the service desk, and they just HANG UP THE PHONE! This was not just a one time fluke, it has happened to me on multiple occasions/days with the service desk. I'm not sure this project will ever end, but when it does I will absolutely never support this store again.

Additionally, I've also had problems with the company they contract with for flooring (Romanoff Renovations). On our installation date, we waited around all day for someone to come within the timeframe they gave us and 1 person showed up and said that he couldn't do this by himself today and they'd send a full crew tomorrow. It's like he had absolutely no idea what the job would entail and the company did not communicate with this one solo worker or myself (the customer) about the situation. The full crew did come the next day, and that's when we found out that our flooring wouldn't even work out. Regardless, I would never recommend going with this Home Depot for a flooring project and good luck if you ever need to call this store.

Update 10/22/21: Two weeks ago the flooring that we originally ordered that could not be installed was picked up and returned to Home Depot and I STILL have not been contacted about my refund. I've tried reaching out to customer service and the flooring department and no one ever calls or...
