Long horn has been my favorite place to eat since my daughter was born and she is 19. So I leave this review saddened because of the recent decline in quality of both service and food at Long Horn. I am not aware of other locations but speak specifically about the Hoover, Al location. So I want to share my experience most recently. Last night the wait was not long to get the usual soup and salad I order. Typically it’s a 20 minute plus wait once you arrive. So last night was timely. However, I get home and have no dressing for my salad nor bread. The soup was a little over half full. I was upset but aware mistakes are made. So today I go back and order again the soup and salad because I needed dressing for the salad sitting in my fridge over night. I get home just now and my soup was not even half full this time. Sadly, I still try getting a taste but there’s pretty much just bread and a little cheese. My daughter had asked for soup also. So, i had ordered two cups and both are about the same. Considering last nights cup and now tonight’s that’s roughly $18 before tax and tip in soggy bread topped with cheese. There was probably no more than three tablespoonfuls of soup among all three cups combined. If you add in the salad I could not eat last night because I had no dressing, we are now at over $40 invested. At that price there are many alternatives out there. I just hope this review will serve as a warning to those wanting to enjoy a warm bowl of soup without hassle, that long horn would not be the place to get that. Lastly, I want to say that before posting a bad review I would normally speak with the manager first. Therefore, I did call but after sitting on hold for over five minutes at 4:30 this afternoon (so I am assuming this time is before dinner rush when that length of a hold could be understood) I just hung up. Realizing that obviously there’s issues on many levels at this Long horn location and my soup is the least of their problems at this point. So unless you want to wait a really long time just to be disappointed then I would go else where. Picture attached to this review and please note that I had not taken a single spoonful before snapping the photo.

We had a surprise gathering for my Aunt. We got permission to decorate the tables and it wasn't very crowded. The serving team was excellent and very accommodating from the manager on. The kitchen was great about filling special orders due to certain diets. I did contact them in a timely manner, and the majority of everyone were there on time. Personality goes a long way along with attitudes. Thank you Longhorn for your great hospitality, kindness, and patience. They even wore their masks which was very appreciative. The restaurant was clean and the servers were neatly dressed. All orders were delivered to the tables with graciousness. The tips were very good. Everyone knew what to do as far as taking care of their servers. Austin, Jordan, & Genesis were great servers. I've also had the pleasure of having Jayden as a server too. Keep hiring people with Respect, Skill when taught correctly, Personality where they don't see color or race, Patience, and Kindness. This also goes for the customers as well. If there's a problem it should be handle professionally. Customers should also be clean and respectful about clealiness when leaving their tables. It makes a difference in a business. You will keep the customers & staff happy. It's all about 'Teamwork!!!' Thank you Longhorn in Hoover, Alabama! We need more places like you. 😊💕

When we arrived last night, they seemed really busy, so we asked to sit at the bar. We inquired about the high top tables in the bar area and the hostess told us that those tables were first come, first serve. When we went into the bar area, 2 out of the three high top tables were empty. We sat at one of the high top tables. Tripp, one of the bartenders on duty, came to the table and told us we couldn’t sit there. Ok. We moved to the bar. Throughout our entire “dining experience”, all three of those high top tables remained unoccupied. My husband and I ordered steak, loaded potatoes and a salad. I ordered a Caesar salad with no croutons. When I received my salad, it was covered in cheese. There was more Parmesan than lettuce. I didn’t say anything. I tried to eat the salad but it was way too much cheese. Meanwhile, at the bar, Tripp was talking with another customer about psilocybin & his plants using foul language. When they brought our entrees out, both of our steaks were raw (we ordered med rare) and the potatoes were old. Drea asked how our food was. My husband sent his steak back. I don’t send food back. I ate a few bites off of the end of my steak but couldnt eat it that rare. By that time, I had lost my appetite. We were done and ready for the check but Drea was busy writing notes with the psilocybin patron.

Slow serve and food was just ok. 1st off when we got there the girl informed me it was a 45 minute wait, I said Yes ok we will wait and we sat down. After a few minutes my husband said we should have been given a buzzer or something. I then went back to hostess desk and a different lady there and she said Yes ok and took my name, number and party size. After we finally were sat, it took the waitres 5 minutes to ask what we wanted to drink, an additional 5 minutes to bring them out and then 10 minutes after she brought drinks to come back to table to ask what did we want to eat because she left when we asked for kids drinks to be put in cups with lids, instead of glasses**which she never brought cups with lids. Oh well, no biggie 😏 she came back 20 minures later and she returned without any cups AND asked "what would you all like to order" We just order and 15 minutes food arrived. Husband steak was extremely fatty but he just cut around. Soooo she (the waitress) took a break and was sitting with friends, while we were done eating and waiting on our check, we waited 15 minutes and she still didn't come. So we just went to hostess desk and ask for to go plates and ask them to inform her we needed our check. She then returned with check and I asked her for Military discount and to remove kids drinks because they had kids meals and that was included. She went on to say well he got a steak, which was not the 3 kids meals nor drinks that I was talking about and I told her I am only talking about the kids meals and drinks. She went on to say "I will just delete", I told here there was no need but just thought drinks were included with kids meals. She left and came back still with one drink next to kids meal of $3.29, my husband was ready to go, We all were and so we just paid for it and left. But she sent the check with no pen to sign,... all of it was beyond me because my family and I go out to eat often and we don't receive poor service as we did tonight. We don't plan to go to this location ever again but if we do, we will not sit in "Carley S" but that's probably not even her name. We will not recommend anyone to this location either. Sad the service you get to spend your money and the service sucks.

Management/ Longhorn reply person please don't tell me you sorry or apologize for our visit Because someone on your staff hired her and she is still employed there.

Thank you and have...

I've been twice and both times my experience have been horrible. Let me first start out by saying the food is very good but the customer service not so much. The first experience the waitress treated us as if we didn't exist after we asked for more dishes and silverware because they were dirty and we asked can the table be cleaned because it was dirty as well, but held a whole conversation with the people at the table next to us. When confronted about the situation, the manager tried to make excuses for her saying she felt really bad but not once did she come out and apologize her self. This incident happened back in November. Fast forward to currently, my daughter, whom just turned 8 wanted her birthday dinner to be at Longhorn. Against my better judgement I obliged. I called Saturday and asked if they'd be able to accommodate a party of 18. The young lady told me to call back Sunday morning and speak with the manager. I called back Sunday morning and talked with the male manager that informed me another party of 15 would be there and we may have a small wait time but he could definitely put me on the waitlist. I arrive to restaurant a little before 3 and checked in only to be informed that the wait time is on a first come first basis. My question was so what's the point of having a waitlist if you're not going to honor it. Not only that it was never disclosed to me that it was on a first come first serve basis otherwise I could've been there to secure our spot. All he could say was my bad for not telling and the wait time is another 2 1/2, 3 hours when I called to secure us a spot that morning. Needless to say, I didn't want to face the reality of the situations both past and present but to me one would think there is some prejudice going on. I hate to think that way but that is the reality of it. Not only that, by this businesses negligence and unwillingness to compromise or accommodate us they ruined my daughter's birthday dinner. She was very upset and couldn't understand why we couldn't have her birthday dinner there. She cried herself to sleep and me as a parent was fuming because no parent wants to see their child cry let along cry on their birthday. The only reason I gave 1 star is because like I stated earlier the food is good but...
