I finally made it back to the restaurant and have to seriously update my review. Since my last visit they added vegetarian options and started clearly marking vegetarian dishes on the menu. I am still not sold on their take on "Mediterranean" food but I like the acidity of their dishes and the fresher appearance of their ingredients. Compared to other chain restaurants really different in flavor and quite a bit better. (update 11/09/2016)
I know, I know, it is called Taziki's and not Tzatziki but I was dreaming of bowls filled with tzatziki when I first visited the place and was deeply disappointed to not find any tzatziki. Spanakopita is a phyllo pie filled with spinach and feta cheese. I have eaten spanakopita in 4 different countries and countless locations and I had it without cheese, with ricotta, with onions, with tomatoes, good and bad, but mostly sumptuous. Why would anybody roll chicken and spinach into a tortilla and call it spanakopita? Same with Greek salad. Traveling in Greece as a vegetarian will make you a connoisseur of horiatiki. Ripe tomatoes, cucumbers, salt, olive oil, often onion rings and olives, sometimes feta (sometimes as an extra), rarely oregano, or pepper. Where is the lettuce coming from? A portobello mushroom sandwich is usually the vegetarian variant of a hamburger and therefore vegetarian staple. Why is there chicken inside? Lastly Taziki's dip reminds me of Cacik, which in itself is good, but dill and thin cow milk instead of strained sheep milk is just not the same as the Tzatziki...
Read moreCustomer Service from Itzel was horrible. I ordered lunch and ordered a Basil Pesto Chicken. She asked if I wanted a chicken roll up and I informed her that I wanted a Basil Pesto Chicken. She confirmed my order and I waited. When I got to my office, the order was incorrect. I called to let them know and they offered me a dessert for my inconvenience in which I declined. I don't eat sweets. When I arrived to get the correct order, it wasn't ready, and Itzel was still at the counter taking orders. Instead of her completing the refund and correcting my order, she proceeds to tell me that I ordered the Pita Roll-Ups and continued to go back and forth with me. I had to stop speaking and she was still shaking her head and smiling as if it was a joke that I had to leave work, AGAIN to go back to get my correct order. All the workers stopped what they were doing and stared at me as if they were all upset. The correct order was $10.99 and my incorrect order that was given to me was $8.99. They refunded my money back to my card and charged me an additional $2.00 for my order but offered to give me a dessert for my inconvenience. I've eaten at Tazikis many times and never had an issue until today. I called to ask for Corporate's number, and they were rude over the phone and didn't provide it. I understand this is a franchise, but I will not stop writing reviews or making a complaint until this is addressed. No customer should have to deal with defending themselves when their...
Read moreI have always loved Taziki's food, service, and atmosphere and have eaten at all locations many times. My experience on Thursday night, Feb. 21, was very disappointing and unexpected as well as unacceptable. I may never be able to eat at Taziki's again unfortunately. I ordered a Turkey and Egg sandwich, minus lettuce, with rice, and potato chips. My plate was served along with the plates of my two friends. I ate 1/2 of the sandwich and it was delicious. Once I finished half the sandwich, I took a bite out of the center of the other half. When I did something from the sandwich was hanging out of my mouth from the sandwich. I laid my sandwich down and picked up my napkin. My friends started saying, oh no and Yuk! I spit the piece out of my mouth, only to discover it was a finger from a plastic glove. I came very close to throwing up at the table. My friend offered to go get the manager. Instead I carried my plate to the counter and waited until the person ordering had finished. I showed the manager my plate. He immediately apologized and offered me another sandwich which I declined because I couldn't have eaten another bite and neither could my two friends. The manager gave me a refund and also a $15 gift certificate for later use. Unfortunately, I don't think I will ever be able to eat at...
