Happy Wok — Restaurant in Hopatcong

I've been a Hopatcong native for thirty years now; I grew up riding my bike down to Lucky House for lunch, so you might call me loyal (despite Lucky House's descent into grungy apathy.)

After eating Happy Wok for the first time yesterday, I am seriously debating having them deliver to Lucky House to show them how this type of food is made. With the exception of a somewhat-bland Mongolian beef combo platter, everything we ordered (out of our $50 order) was absolutely delicious. Everything was cooked properly, and the flavors were all in the right place.

Let me tell you about the sushi: I had the best Philadelphia roll I've ever eaten yesterday. If the sushi is always this rich in flavor and well-prepared, this restaurant could make a name for itself on sushi alone.

I will be ordering from Happy Wok very often...

Happy Wok in Hopatcong is the BEST Chinese food in the area. Now, one thing about American Chinese food is the VAST variations between each restaurant/cook. My "Best" very well could be someone's "Worst" while their "favorite" would poison normal people. It's that varied. Now, Happy Wok is honestly good and consistent with their food quality and service. Sometimes mistakes happen, we are ALL HUMAN and mistakes WILL happen. Each time I had an issue the head woman behind the counter has ALWAYS made good on it. Good food, NOT overly salty (like the others in town), fair prices the only thing I wish they did --- Deliver OR work with a Delivery Service! Right now I would KILL for Shrimp Egg Foo Yung... STRANDED AND NO WAY TO GET CHINESE FOOD!! Anyway - A MUST TRY for all Hopatcong residents looking for decent...

If I can give it 0 stars I would. Just moved into town and didn’t want to cook tonight so I decided to order from here. I am very familiar with Chinese take outs and most dishes are usually prepared the same from one restaurant to another.

I got the sze Chuan and there is nothing spicy about it! The sauce tasted like vinegar and it was extremely sweet. I think they made it with sweet and sour sauce instead and threw in like 3 dried chili peppers to make it “spicy”. One of the worst take out food ever. Total disappointment as I had to chug water after a few bites because the amount of sugar in the sauce...
