i went Saturday and ordered the food, The owner greeted me but the girl running the register did not and did not take my order until she the 2 others in front waiting for their orders got their orders. I ordered the grand philly, chicken philly, Gryo on Pita, and 10 wings. The owner was helpful, and seemed efficient. The girl working the front was not at all capable of doing her job. She complained that the cook chopping meet on the grill was too loud, he didn't give her phone orders, he wasn't getting things out in time and she was getting frustrated, She mimicked strangling and hitting him, which he didn't acknowledge. He came up and took phone orders because she started she wouldn't until she gt my order. I had to ask for my drinks. The ice scoop was in the ice, and she put in back in the ice. She left the bagged frozen chicken wings in the basket over the oil, next to the french fries. A person came in wanting to get his phone order wings which she didn't drop....so she used the chicken wings she had left out and dropped those. I waited over 20 minutes from a simple order... so for 20 minutes those wings sat over hot oil. now in terms of food... The bread that the subs came on was very good. However, the Grand Philly lacked flavor. The chicken philly was awful. The chicken is chunks of what seems like grilled tyson chicken and was smothered in mayo. The chicken wings are a joke. They are like the tiny drumsticks and wings. I mean, they are TINY. They were pre battered and frozen. I again want to say that they were all flavored in maybe mild flavor and frozen and seemed like the frozen ones you can get at a big box store. The Gyro was good, really good. That was our favorite. The sauce was a little underwhelming for me personally, but it was good. French fries were crinkle with season salt put on them.
I had higher expectations for this establishment given the high reviews, but unfortunately we will not be going back. The restaurant seemed nice on the inside, the eating...
Read moreThis is an honest and detailed review. Food is 4/5 for me. It is good but not great. I have tasted authentic Middle Eastern foods while I was in Saudi/Dubai (for 3 years) with my husband so we pretty much have a basis. We have also tried the other restaurant in town that serve pretty much the same stuff. The serving size is not that much and a little bit pricey compared to the other restaurant we have been to. Staff is 4.5/5.The owner is Mr. George( he is Middle Eastern but not sure where he is specifically from). He is friendly and accommodating. He also gives recommendations to customers. He works alone (atleast during our visits). Ambience and cleanliness is 3.5/5. His place is of decent size but cleanliness isn't that impeccable as he works as a stand alone owner I guess. Floor, tables and kitchen are a bit messy for me. I guess they need to do some general cleaning when they have some time. Service is 3.9/5. You have to wait a bit. I haven't seen other staff so he pretty much is doing all the cooking, taking of orders and payments by himself. Atleast the food is homemade and fresh. *Photos are from...
Read moreI would suggest calling in an order ahead. I was/am new to the area and wanted spanikopita. I assume he is the owner and went to work all alone. Including call in orders. Maybe took 30 minutes or so. I wasn't in a hurry... And the food is worth it.. I decided to listen to the owner...chicken gyro. I didn't even like them before. Now I want a reason to go to to hope Mills.. Best cheese steak South of NYC I ever tasted. Wings are great if you like them drier... And not drowned in sauce. And the owner is going to know me. The spanikopita. I prefer more spinach... But I did share with locals. The ones I shared. You have new customers. I still loved them. And btw. I was impressed sitting in the restaurant and watching him cut fresh veggies... And not just take them out of bins. (Maybe he was out..who knows.) But he seemed to be proud of his food... Not an attitude. I can't wait to go back and visit. Btw. That was my first visit. I hope y'all enjoy it as...
