Las Marias Modern Mexican Kitchen — Restaurant in Horn Lake

I ordered from this place when I was in town a couple months ago, and it was pretty good. Nothing amazing, but good enough. So I was back in town and ordered again, my gosh it was disgusting. First off it took well over an hour for delivery (1.9) miles away. Not entirely the restaurants fault, but watching the Dasher waiting, it was mostly on the restaurant. That’s no big deal to me, I travel all the time and am used to stuff happening and don’t mind waiting, cold food isn’t even a huge deal. But this order was something. I usually don’t take the time to review unless I really liked the place so they get a positive review. But unfortunately that is not the case with this order. I ordered chicken burrito with grilled veggies, and chips and queso. I took one bite of burrito that was mostly tortilla, then a second and almost spit it out. I opened it up to look at it and I don’t know what happened but it was disgusting, maybe not cooked? Certainly not seasoned… straight to the trash. As you can tell, I’m not a picky eater so I’m thinking ok, I still have the chips and queso. The chips were very old and stale and the queso had coagulated. The hotel room had a microwave but the queso was in styrofoam. I just ate the gross chips by themselves and that was dinner. I would not recommend this place at all. Like I said the first time I ordered was fine, but the stark contrast of the second order is way too inconsistent...

Wanted it to be good so bad, ngl. I was excited to try the rebrand and new ownership. Unfortunately was severely disappointed. First off, I ordered ahead for pick up and the employee on the phone didn’t know any answers to any questions I had. She passed the phone to someone else, who was very rude. When the lady repeated my order I realized she said fish tacos when I ordered shrimp, so I called back to make sure it was shrimp not fish and the guy on the phone was so rude. Then I get my food, the carne asada was not carne asada- it was shredded beef. Carne asada is supposed to be steak. So the Cali burrito and carne asada tacos had shredded beef which altered the taste a lot of bit. We also got enchiladas which were very, very dry and flavorless. I wanted to like this place. I even went four times but that last time is what did it for me. The first time we got Birria tacos. They were okay but too cheesy with chunks of meat. Second time I took my mom who got fish and shrimp tacos which had an overwhelming amount of sauce where you can’t taste the shrimp and fish. The third time I went for my son street tacos. Again chunky unseasoned meat. You better off going to the taco truck near the tire store. Yesterday my final time was I ordered a t bone steak which again had no seasoning and was tough as hell.
