Guacamole’s Mexican Grill & Cantina — Restaurant in Hot Springs

Ok so my family and I are vacationing here from the great state of Texas. On our hunt for something to eat that we didn't have in our hometown we came across this restaurant and it was rated high and decided to try it out. We arrived around 5 and to my surprise the place was empty. We were seated and our drinks were ordered. The lady that brought out the chips and salsa was very rude and unprofessional. Well the waitress took our order and we received our food. By this time the place was still empty but another group of people had shown up and our waitress forgot about us. We had to ask the hostess to get our check. We were done with our dinner for over 30 minutes, all the drinks were empty and we couldn't get service. Then they added gratuity, which isn't a big deal, but when questioned what the charge was they said it wasn't gratuity and couldn't explain what the extra charge was. We love the lake and will possibly return to the area. I will NEVER return to this establishment!!! Horrible...

I hadn't eaten here in the last couple of years, but my husband and I ate the last week for lunch and we were very disappointed! The atmosphere is great, the service was good, but the food was horrlble!!! I had Chicken Nachos and my husband had Beef Taco Salad. The was definitely something wrong with our meats. The beef was flavorless and mushy like dog food. And the shredded chicken was flavorless and something was wrong with it! It was rubbery and wavy! I don't think it was real chicken! It was probably that new "biodegradble" junk they are trying to pass off as meat! It's probably not the owners fault, the probably are buying canned meat that is that fake meat! We had not been in awhile, so dropped in last night. No problem being seated. The owner or manager is very quick to take drink orders and come back for food orders. He also has a great memory. We were in in the last booth on the left side. I noticed the wall was splattered with sauces of different shades indicating it had been that way for awile... When our food came and I unwrapped my fork, there was old food still stuck to one prong. When I asked for another fork, he never asked Why....which was a little concerning. I have no complaints about the food. I loved my enchilada tripas and the portions are large. I do hope they will clean a little better.. We will be back, but will...
