Guacamoles Mexican Grill & Cantina — Restaurant in Hot Springs

We had a take out order tonight. We asked for extra chips and they were so gracious and gave them to me and I headed home. Get home and start to unpack the food and the chips smell and taste like Tuesday…and it’s Friday. So we called the restaurant and they proceeded to argue that their chips are fresh daily. We said cool, no worries and then my partner opened his food and it was made incorrectly. The service and the online order and everything was great, but very unhappy about the chips! We'd been meaning to try Guacamoles for several months, and today seemed like a good day.... We were VERY disappointed. Here's the Good: 1) Our server was outstanding- friendly, courteous, attentive! 2) The Chile Relleno was really pretty good.

Here's the "NOT So Good": The rest of the food: the tortilla chips were cracked up little pieces, and tasted like cheap grocery store chips; everything else was bland and pretty tasteless - like institutional attempts at Mexican food.

Definitely NOT going back and do...

Love this place! Enthusiastic staff! Fantastic food! Great variety on the menu! Try the orange pomegranate guacamole, prepared tableside! Fresh oysters! If someone in your crowd isn't in the mood for Mexican, they have a great burger! Of course, excellent margaritas. Be aware, the windows are tinted, so it might not look open...it is!
