This is the only restaurant i have visited where they actually implement sanitary measures to prevent the spread of covid 19. From the point where you arrive at the door, they welcome you with a thermometer to check your body temperature and hand sanitizer so patrons can sanitize their hands before touching any surfaces. All the tables have partisans around each table and they actually look like private cubicles. Other patrons cannot see you nor you can see others. That is awesome, i ate my food very confidently and with a peace of mind. The wait staff wears masks and face shields for their protection and the patrons protection. There is hand sanitizer every where. Even the bar has partisans that actially protect the patrons and employees. I have not seen this type of preventive measures even at upper end restaurants. Way to go Abasolo Restauran!!! I'm proud of you guys been the only mexican restaurant in Houston that trully implements commendable measures to mitigate covid19 infections. The food was delicious and every1 was so friendly. I sure will come back to enjoy more of the authentic and delicious food you guys serve in...

I am very disappointed with the business owner. A gentlemen walked in asking for water and the female was very rude and dismissive. I understand if he was violent, rude or anything unacceptable, but he was kind. Then she started asking him to leave and he just did not know where to hide his face. I asked him if he was hungry, if he would like a taco and the owner, TOLD ME, not to buy him anything. ME a paying customer, not making a scene, using MY HARD EARNED MONEY, just being nice. He said yes. I proceeded to order him a taco, WITH MY MONEY, and she did not want to do it. She kept kicking him out after I ordered food for him and he was deeply saddened. He ended up leaving without the food I BOUGHT so I cancelled the order. He was wearing shirt and jeans, not dirty, not smelly and was treated poorly. Even if he was homeless or not looking his best, people should be treated better. The young waitress was being nice trying to help the gentleman but her aunt is the owner and gave the waitress a hard time as well. Never again will I spend...

The food is mediocre The waitstaff are completely rude. I haven't been this offended at a restaurant in a very long time. I was going to meet up with some friends for lunch I was late when I sat down at the table I took off my mask. Everyone was leaving and I stood up with my mask still off as did everybody else and a lady came from back behind the counter and singled me out out of everybody else and told me to put my mask on and stood there while I was pretty much forced to do it. I am not one of those kind of people that pulls the race card but I was the only white person there and she just so happened to single me out and did not say a word to anyone else and didn't tell or make anyone put their masks on. Mind you I have had both of my covid 19 vaccines shots. I felt extremely offended and still do . Other than that experience, the food is not that good all. Don't go here, tons of other better mexican food restaurants to go...

This place is an absolute hidden gem. The texmex staples here and breakfast are always fresh and well executed but there are a couple of absolute standout dishes that make this place a low-key DESTINATION. The platillo chester is served on a hot comal with a bed of tortillas smothered in fajita, pastor, and chorizo blanketed in melty cheese. As you wait for this molten hot plate of goodness to cool enough to be edible the tortillas on the bottom fry in the juice released from the meat and cheese and get perfectly crispy crunchy. Yes, it also comes with tortillas on the side. The other BANGER here is the Molcajete Abasolo. A bubbling hot molcajete filled with beef and chicken fajitas and nopal smothered in slightly spicy sauce (might be tomato might be like achiote might be both) with chunks of white cheese that melt nice and slow into/onto everything else. Check out the pic and video.

The soup is delicious and homemade. The service is exceptional. I was forced to shelter in place here tonight because of the SUDDEN tornado. I will be forever grateful for the kindness, hospitality, and compassion that was granted to me tonight. Make it your business to come experience this cultural hub in NODO Houston. 💜 #toptier
