Afterhours coffeeshop — Restaurant in Houston

I stopped by Afterhours Coffee last Sunday to grab some coffee. The shop is one block south of the Quitman Park & Ride, so if you're like me and drive as well as take the Red Line, this is a great place to get coffee right by Quitman Station.

Bear in mind--you will need to call the phone number on the front door so someone can come and open the door for you.

Inside is a barber shop (Afterhours Barber Shop), and right in the back of the barber shop is a small room decorated as a coffee shop. The coffee "shoppette" is beautifully decorated with warm and inviting colors. Coffee bar seems to be well stocked with different options of milk, syrups, etc., despite the small space.

Victor prepared me an iced coffee with oat milk. Easily one of the best iced coffees I've ever had (and as a Vietnamese American, my standards on coffee are HIGH).

I was craving some late night coffee; after seeing the google reviews I figured why not try this place? I knocked on the door and was led to the back of the barbershop to a cool micro-cafe setup that feels more like a secret club for coffee lovers. Victor, the coffee alchemist, is passionate about his drinks and service. He hooked me up with not one, but two free, delicious iced lattes: one just milk+espresso, the other pulled with chocolate. Both equally great. It's the type of low key place you want to gatekeep but can't because it's destined to be the vibe. This place is a welcome add-on to the neighborhood and this man knows how to brew a killer coffee that rivals and even beats the big names in town. I’ve really been hoping for a local coffee spot to show up when searching google maps in my neighborhood and I’ve finally found one!

This is a really cool unconventional little coffee spot and I’d highly recommend. The coffee shop is located in the very back of the barber shop, don’t be afraid to go on in and try it out, everyone was very chill and friendly!
