visited poppa burger today food is always good but this time I cannot let an incident that happened just slip. let me metion that my husbands family has been going there for over 40 years my husband was a kid when he started going he is 30 now, I mention so you know that we are regulars. today my husband placed order and like always he asked for my burger without pickels. I dislike pickles very much I dont even like any pickle juice to even touch my bread or meat so when I went back to the window because my burger had pickles she said my husband never told her we didnt want pickles so she started arguing with my husband about it she turned around and told cook to REMOVE the pickles from burger she said this in spanish thinking I didnt understand what she was saying I turned around and said No I want another burger I hate pickels in spanish! she closed the window in my face when I told her I could have removed the pickles myself! once burger was ready she called me to window as I was walking she was being very loud and said "and next time I am not going to change it because he didnt tell me that! how does this lady feel so confident when she doesnt write any of the order down my order was big for 5 people. I told her you dont write anything down how are u so sure her response " I dont need to" which my reply was abviously you do at this point I waa upset! she yelled at my husband which was sitting down eating "well obviously he forgot to metion he didnt want pickles! really lady? your going to start going at it with your customers?! you dont even own the place!! she was extremely rude I hate that we had such a bad experience since we enjoy...

Nestled in the heart of Downtown Houston, Poppa Burger isn't just a burger joint, it's a staple for the Latino community. This family-owned and operated gem has been serving up delicious American classics and tasty tacos for years, becoming a beloved spot for generations.
Heads up, cash is king at Poppa Burger! But trust me, the food is worth the ATM run.
On my recent visit, I dove into their signature Double Daddy Bacon Burger. Two juicy, perfectly seasoned patties were layered with crispy bacon, melty cheese, and all the fresh fixings. The taste was pure nostalgia, reminding me of simpler times.
To complete the experience, I grabbed a side of their onion rings. These crispy gems were spot on – similar in flavor and texture to Whataburger's, and absolutely addictive.
But Poppa Burger's charm goes beyond the food. The staff is as friendly as they come, and with their bilingual (English/Spanish) service, everyone feels welcome. Whether you're a local catching a quick bite or a visitor seeking a taste of Houston's Latino heritage, Poppa Burger is sure to leave you satisfied.
So next time you're downtown, skip the chain and head to Poppa Burger. You won't be disappointed!
