Experience with Ashiana Hello everyone, I wanted to share a recent experience with a Ashiana Indian Restaurant, Bar and Banquet & Catering located at 12610 Briar Forest Dr, Houston, TX 77077.
I called and booked the table and private party room to celebrate my son high school graduation on June 2024. We arrived by 7:30pm . Too many bad experiences in one day but here is few, When we got there we noticed inside room temperature is hot and we told our attendant waitress and she said she can fix the AC thermostat and room should be cold in little bit . We ordered the some snacks and they took almost 40 minutes to just bring the snacks but we didn't said anything about late service but we told her that room is still not cold and she brought standing fan and after that she brought one more standing fan with our humble request but room was still not cold and too late to find any good Indian restaurant for group of 20 people's. We have to stay with any cost now. After that I ordered our foods . I ordered few different dishes to enjoy my son school graduation with my family and relatives. They took more than one hour to just start bringing our food. They brought some dishes and we start eating but they brought 5-7 dishes after we done with eating. YES after we done with eating. We left many dishes on the table after we left from there. When we call to book the table I asked her if they have chef Mr. Singh because his food recipes is great and she said Mr. Singh is off today but they have same food recipes. BUT WHEN WE TASTE THE FOOD IT WAS TOTALLY DIFFERENT AND NOT A TASTY AT ALL. My Mom didn't eat anything after first bite and she came back home hungry and my wife made her food at home . All the dishes taste was not good. After we done we proceed to cashier table to make a payment. We got very big surprise. Total BILL WAS ALMOST 900 DOLLARS FOR 20 PEOPLE FOOD. We all got shocked because we always go to Indian restaurant and never got that high bill. Owner was on the cashier desk and he knows everything that we got too many problems with services and food quality. We asked him about it but he was kind of quiet and not feeling any apologies and doing drama to keep busy with cashier computer. Our waiter told him to give us 20 percent discount and she was also member of management. But owner was keep doing drama to show us that he is trying to add discounts but don't know how to do it . He gave us $25 coupon. What a joke . I told him that he should give us 50% discount or don't charge us at all and I know if that was American restaurant they going to apologize many times to us and let us go without making a single penny payment for it. NOT A SINGLE APOLOGY FOR THE DELAYS OR SERVICE AND DOR LOWER QUALITY FOOD . These are just few bad experiences and...
Read moreMy last visit left me wondering if these guys are actively trying to lose customers? Ordered $40 worth of to-go food. Was told to pick it up in 30 mins. I reached there in 35 mins sharp and was promptly billed. After payment, the cashier went to kitchen and emerged after 5 mins... I was told it will be a "few more mins". Another Uber-Eats Driver showed up who was told the same. I waited right outside the entrance.
A total of 20 mins passed and I went in again: By this time, the restaurant had zero customers, and no staff was to be seen. Uber guy was already inside, waiting. I called the restaurant but no answer: So we both waited for 10 more mins.
It was over an hour since my order and my money had already been taken. So I went to the kitchen and after a few minutes of knocking, some guy finally emerged carrying my food. He showed major attitude and acted as if he is granting me some favor by giving me the food that I already PAID for and waited 30 mins PAST THE PROMISED TIME. He told me I am "supposed to wait at the entrance" (where I was for 30 mins) and to "not come in to the kitchen" (I was outside Kitchen, not inside, coz no person was to be seen). No apologies about the mismanagement (with ZERO CUSTOMERS and only 2 to-go orders - me, and the Uber driver - but he did tell us that "it just takes time sometimes".
Its covid - restaurant business isnt doing that great anyway, so it is pretty stupid to antagonize repeat customers. Why would you do something so...
Read morePreviously I had written a 5 star review for this restaurant, but after our last visit, I feel like the new management has tried to cheat us. When the restaurant first opened, their buffet was a very reasonable $16.99 per person. A month later, they raised the price to $19.99 which is a standard price at many of the Indian restaurants. 3 weeks ago, the price was raised to $25.99. Two weeks ago, I was pleasantly surprised to see the price drop to $19.99 again. Last week, I was charged $29.99 per person. When I confronted the owner, he said that there were special items on the buffet line. I didn't notice anything different. I talked with my wife about it, and she said she overheard another customer being charged $19.99. My wife called this Friday and asked for the pricing and was told it was $19.99. I called and was told it might be $25.99. When my wife confronted the women at the front desk on the phone about the mischarging, the women refused to deal with her. Finally the owner got on the phone and agreed to refund $20 from last week. Needless to say, we won't...
