Unforgettable Flavors at Bun Mang Vit Thanh Da – The Duck House
Tucked quietly away, Bun Mang Vit Thanh Da, known affectionately as The Duck House, offers a standout culinary experience rooted in traditional Vietnamese comfort food—and every bite proves it.
I started my visit with the spring rolls, which were flawlessly crisp on the outside and packed with fresh, vibrant ingredients inside. The accompanying dipping sauce was bright, tangy, and addictive—perfectly complementing the rolls without overwhelming them.
The lychee tea was another surprise highlight: refreshing, lightly sweet, and aromatic. It was the perfect pairing to balance the rich, savory elements of the meal and added a cooling note that lingered pleasantly after each sip.
Of course, The Duck House is famed for its bun mang vit—duck noodle soup with bamboo shoots—and it delivers. The duck was incredibly tender and flavorful, the broth subtle yet rich, and the bamboo shoots gave it that extra depth and crunch. Everything was tied together beautifully with their homemade ginger fish sauce (nuoc mam gung), which is so good it should be a national treasure.
Service was prompt and warm, and the atmosphere—simple, clean, and unpretentious—lets the food speak for itself.
Whether you're a seasoned Vietnamese food lover or just duck-curious, Bun Mang Vit Thanh Da is a must-visit. The attention to detail, the quality of ingredients, and the unforgettable flavors make this place more than just a meal—it’s a comforting, authentic experience from start to finish.

Read moreI agreed with Henry Ho below ...proportion size is noticably reduced. More expensive than before as price stays the same or more. This used to be one of my favorite restaurant but not so much now for this reason.
I have been here for years. It was great but since a year ago, they have greatly reduced their salad and meat size. The cut was thicker and more meat before. Now, they have small and big size Vit Salad but the cut is much thinner and even the big salad appears like a small salad. Not much different if they gonna charge us more. Great restaurant = consistent great food quality, service, and size portion. I been to restaurants where noticeable size reduced after some time. As if we customers don't notice it that we're getting rip off. This is where lots of business fail and at least for those who likes a good bargain. We are willing to pay if we walk in fine dining and expect to pay at that level but we walked into a reasonable good restaurant and expects our hard working money to be worth what we paid for like the first time. Understandably that economy can go up and so are things but then go ahead and increase the menu price but keep the size or quality the same. Not try to cut down less food for either same price or increase of meal cost. So I tend to not visit anymore when I tend to notice these subtle rip offs and change of service. It took time to build a restaurant's name and unsure why they do not see it could affect long term business traffic. Good...
Read moreAte here last week and it was a pleasant place. I saw the reviews from others saying that the place had a strange smell and also a couple thay said the soup was too salty.
My wife and I didn't notice any strange smell at all so not sure what that was about. Maybe some not used to anything duck smell but it was a regular smell for a dining place. I have to be careful on eating too much salt so my wife got the duck soup and a duck salad. I tried them both and the soup was fine and had wished I had ordered it too as it was excellent and the duck salad was also. The duck was tender and very tasty.
We will definitely be back and I will get my own soup and duck dishes. I had gotten the special fried rice and egg rolls and they were also real good. I put at among the best we have eaten out and gotten. Recommend this place as the service was good also.
Returned last week and wanted to note that we again had excellent service and the dishes were again the best I have eaten in the area. We again had several duck dishes and again they were about the best prepared dishes I have eaten. I did try one beef dish and the beef was tender and juicy and love the seasoning of it. I also lived their egg rolls and this place is the only restaraunt that serves it with lettuce to be eaten by using the lettuce as a wrap and dipped in the sauce. Many places used to do this but very rare now. That was a nice touch and the egg rolls were very good. Showing consistency is good and assures...
