I usually go to the Central library downtown location to renew mine and my family's passports. I like that location because they take walk-in appointments. I was over on this side of town yesterday though and this was a more convenient location at the time so I figured I would give it a try. I got online to see if they require an appointment but it wasn't clear if they did or not so I went ahead and made one just in case. They had plenty of same day appointments available (this was a Tuesday) so I picked at a same day 3pm slot (it was 11am when I booked.)
I showed up right at 3pm and they got me right in. There are two offices in the passport office at this location and two people were working. I asked the guy who waited on me if appointments were required for this location and he said they were, so make sure you book one before showing up. The man who waited on me was friendly and pleasant and he even offered to make copies of what he needed copies of even though I showed up prepared and had already made all the copies he needed. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. It was a smooth and easy experience. Also, parking is free here unlike at the downtown library location. I would certainly recommend this location for...
Read moreI think that now with this new location they had there has been a lot of changes and now it's hard to get an appointment scheduled for a passport, I've been coming here for the past 10 years or so and have referred family over to them and now I call to schedule an appointment and to ask information about getting my children their passport and I need to leave a voicemail. I tried doing the appt online and it keeps saying that there are no appointments even for the other library locations.. when a staff member called me back I told him what was going on with the page and that it had been like that the whole morning and he said "well they say that the appointments come up every 15 minutes" I asked if I could schedule an appt over the phone and he said no, asked if I could do a walk in and he said no. I tried doing what he said every 15 minutes and still nothing. I guess I will have to take my family somewhere else where they are...

Before COVID, this library was a beautiful place for me to learn and have some fun. It's also a good place to connect with our community and for kids to make new hobbies ( with the varied craft activities that the library offered).
I miss being able to be in the library again. For now, stay safe and wear mask while picking up your book!
Today I went to pick a book, they have a poster outside in case you forgot that you need to call them once you arrive; which was helpful in my case.
I received the book quickly (while I stayed in my car) and in a safe way. I really appreciate that the library took the chance to pass some extra information, which will help us all improve the state of our city and our safety. From census to a severe weather guide.
Thank you for your help, Hennington-Alief public...
