I have been wanting to come here for about a year now, finally decided to take my ladies here for brunch and overall we had a decent experience but there were a few things that were a bit frustrating.
I will start out by saying ordering food and drinks for 4 people was $85, so it was not cheap by any means and you typically expect better than average service when you are spending that much. We ordered 3 melts, a burger, and 3 drinks. The food came out pretty quickly and most of it was delicious and ingredients were fresh.
My sunny side egg was mostly uncooked, the egg white was slimy and still clear as well as egg shell in my burger. The oh yeah burger was supposed to be medium but was well done and very dry, but thankfully the spicy aioli on the burger was really good and the sandwich as a whole was great after I removed the raw egg and eggshells. The Texan melt was fantastic! The avocado was the perfect ripeness, the scrambled eggs and dijonnaise were incredible together. The vegan melt was very light with a lot of flavor packed in.
The biggest miss at this spot was the service. We brought our pups so we could have a nice outdoor brunch with them because we work in the pet industry and our pets are a huge part of our lives. The “dog friendly” reviews had me expecting less harsh patio conditions and dog bowls available for water, but there was neither. It was so incredibly hot and humid with no shade whatsoever, so we attempted to open the patio umbrellas for shade. The metal sticks were not attached so one of us went to ask if we could get them. Staff proceeded to tell us the umbrellas were broken and we couldn’t use them despite everyone being massively uncomfortable. Turns out they weren’t broken and they did have the metal sticks, so I have no idea what that was even about. This was really frustrating because they somehow lost our drink order and never brought our drinks out. Everyone was miserable out there. We had to ask about the drinks several times, and then they had to ask us what we even ordered because they couldn’t find it. That’s wild. We ordered the strawberry matcha cloud, the buzzed lavender latte iced, and a mocha frappe. Once we finally got our drinks (we had already been waiting to leave because we had well finished our food by then). The drinks were AMAZING!
Overall this place is worth a visit but take in consideration that the service may not be great or even good, and always get a copy of your receipt since they lose track of orders and don’t check in on tables or customers. The patio would only be ideal on a cool day as there are no outdoor fans and unprepared staff, despite how much potential it has. I’m definitely conflicted about if or when we will...
Read moreLoved visiting this location on a rainy day to knock out some work. I didn't use my laptop so not sure about the WiFi but the atmosphere was very nice for working. They were busy with lots of customers in and out, but it was easy to find an open table and never became loud or distracting. It wasn't too cold or hot either, so comfortable to stay for a bit!
Since I was there for a while I ordered a few things: •vegan all day panini subbed tater tots instead of chips 10/10! The bread was nice and crisp, not too oily or soggy, fresh veggies, not skimpy, not too salty or over the top either. Just a really great simple but delicious sandwich. The tater tots were nice and crispy also not too greasy or salty.
•texas pecan latte with oat milk - so good! I will come back often just for this drink. Not too sweet, strong enough with the regular espresso didn't feel I needed to add extra shots. 10/10
I worked for a while and then ordered a matcha latte with oat milk. This is the only thing I suggest to improve- When I ordered the latte I decided to get sugar free vanilla instead of regular simple syrup. I requested it with oat milk but I wasn't informed until I requested sugar free that the matcha is usually made with condensed milk. It doesn't list anywhere on the menu. I have a dairy allergy so I'm really glad I found out thanks to the friendly and informative ladies working as barista and cashier. I opted for it to be made without the condensed milk and it was delicious! I find lots of places don't make a great matcha latte but this was a 10/10 for me. Please just include the information somewhere so people can know ahead of time about the condensed milk :) :) since if we are dairy free we can usually just change out the base milk of the latte to make most drinks DF without additional changes.
I stayed until about 5:45, the staff very politely informed remaining customers that they would be closing at 6 pm. It never felt rude or like they wanted to rush anyone away. They handle this so gracefully whereas some places make you feel very bad for being there before closing time.
Overall the service stood out to me as EXCELLENT! especially for a younger staff, they were so helpful, kind, welcoming and professional. It really makes a huge impact for whether a customer will return and I definitely will be back thanks to them! Happy to have you in the neighborhood...
Read moreNice spot. This coffee shop and eatery definitely stands out from other big chain options.
To elucidate, first off, it’s both a coffee house and eatery. A nice marriage of concepts. Further, the interior is unique to their own theme. The design is modern. By that I mean polished concrete floors. Ten foot tall glass windows that wrap around the entire dining room which allow for natural light to flood in. Wooden tables and cold hard metal chairs. Touches of vegetation, some pendant lamps, and bee yellow accents from the ten foot posters too the bar chairs. And for the parents out there with a baby, if you were wondering, I did see a high chair.
And if you want some fresh air, there is also a patio that has about four tables and a few have a patio umbrella for some shade.
For the menu, tried the Mocha Frappé. It was solid. Prepped well. Whip cream and chocolate drizzle for the decadent decoration. They said they use coffee concentrate in the drink, power to you if you know what that is ‘cause I don’t.
Pastry selection was picturesque. They also offer a light fair if you want something more substantial.
The team was cool and friendly. Vibes were chill.
Only gripe, and it’s not unusual, is that for my ears the music was too loud. Had to use ear plugs to be able to focus on the work.
Secondly, this isn’t there fault, but my laptop was not able to pickup the “Guest” WiFi signal, but my phone was. I mention that so that you can be mentally prepared to find a work around if your laptop does the same.
All in all, glad I gave Buzz n Bites a try. It’s a unique coffee shop/eatery with it’s own identity. They don’t currently have a rewards program, but if they ever do I’m sure they’ll reap the benefits.
Final rating. 4.25 out of 5. Lower the music a tad and y’alls formula will be near perfect. But of course this is one person’s opinion, as always I leave it up to you to...
