Htown Handshakes at Coco’s Coffee Bar was an absolute game-changer for networking in Houston! 🌟 This event is more than just handshakes—it’s about real connections with fellow business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals who are passionate about supporting local businesses. The energy in the room was electric, filled with people who are serious about building relationships and growing together. Coco’s Coffee Bar is truly a hidden gem in the Houston Heights—the perfect setting for meaningful conversations over great coffee. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the atmosphere made it easy to engage and connect. If you’re looking for high-quality networking that actually delivers value, Htown Handshakes is where you need to be. Huge shoutout to the team behind this event for creating a space where Houston’s business community can thrive and support each other. Can’t wait for the next one! šŸš€šŸ”„ #HTownHandshakes #HoustonNetworking #SupportLocal #BusinessGrowth

Very Oak Forest. Cute and family oriented. The lady was super helpful and guided us along the way for our first visit. We showed up for a donut and coffee and stayed for a breakfast sandwich and avocado ā€œtoast.ā€ The bread was BIG for the sandwich. I took off the top piece, ate the rest with a fork and knife. I saved the top for last. The side of potatoes were on point for breakfast. The avocado toast looked more like tostada. My wife thought they were heavy on the onion. Good thing you can pick those off easily. We took a strawberry conch sandwich to go and that was our favorite part of the experience. It was delicious, but also messy as can be. Our coffees for alright. A lil heavy on the ice. I wish I had ordered the large.

I truly wanted to like this place as I’ve been waiting for sometime for it to open, but it was hard to. The vibes are great. It looks like a great place to go hangout, chill, have a drink/coffee. I went in this morning and ordered the pigs in a blanket (3 come in an order for $4.50), a ā€œquesitoā€ (which is like a cheese danish), and an iced latte. The latte was not good. It had a weird taste and all the syrup was at the bottom of the cup like they forgot to stir it. There’s other coffee shops in the area that have better coffee. As for the pastries, they were ok. Nothing too crazy. Service was great too. Hopefully they’re still getting everything together on the food side since they just opened.

We live in the neighborhood and finally had time to try them. Sadly. Wanted to like this place so much. My wife and I are Bakers and love supporting others in the game.

We stopped by and bought several items to try.

Kolaches were not good; small lil smokey sausage in it, dry and tasted day old. That really made me question what they are doing here. To pay almost 5 bucks for a kolache that's all dry bread and very minimal cheese and sausage is so unacceptable.

We got a couple donuts, which were very small. The icings on them were pleasant.

We also got a Tres Leches Cinnamon roll. It was not good. Very watered down tasting and just soggy grossness overall. I understand what they tried to do but horrible execution.

We also got a couple muffins. One which we didn't have and had to go back in and ask for again. A Lemon Poppyseed and a Pumpkin Cheese one. The lemon poppy seed was very bland. The only flavor being the lemon icing. I haven't tried the pumpkin yet. It's sitting on the counter..... with all the disappointment I'm not in a hurry to try it.

Between the crazy high prices and the very inconsistent products..... I do not know who's to blame; the owner or their master baker. Yall need to shave that pastry/donut menu down and perfect the proces more.

(Didn't get to try the coffee but having some an employee just sitting behind the bar reading a book on the clock is not an inviting way to run a coffee bar. I'm not trying to interrupt a dude with his nose in a book.)

This place feels very ambitious and full of potential but seems it's lacking a real bakery/bistro staff or direction. Kind of sucks because I don't see this place lasting much longer.

Edit: we cut up the pumpkin cream cheese muffin. It's pretty bad. Taste like fake pumpkin amd heavy on the all spice. Barely any cream cheese, look like a teaspoon of it placed in the middle. The actual muffin taste as if baked in dirty muffin tins or was mixed in a dirty bowl. Ot has the wet dog like after taste you get when water sits in a metalmixing bowl or metal muffin tins. That is a cleanliness issue. Not wiping out the baking equipment after washing them. Reading all the good reviews has me thinking they're paying for good reviews or having lots of family and friends write reviews. Because everything we tried except for the donuts was very not worth the price. When you can get better things for cheaper down the road....yeah I just don't know about this place. If you're looking for amazing donuts go to the shileys on Ella or River Oaks Donuts. If you'd like good pastries then Angela's Oven or Manigols. This place has horrible...

Driving by with my 4 year old grandson after spending an hour at the doctors office he wanted to eat a donut a kolache and a breakfast taco so I ordered it for him I ordered a Blt sandwich for myself I paid and went sit down my grandson got impatient as any other kid would I got up to ask if his food was coming the register black guy in the front very rudely had the courage to say that there were other customers to take care of and that we should wait our turn I did not say anything to him I just went back to sit down once we had our food my grandson wanted a lemonade which I opted to ask the bartender instead who was just right in front of us he brought the lemonade for my grandson again the black young man from the register approached me while eating just to tell me that I should have order the lemonade with him not with the bartender and I should not walk away with out paying the lemonade I was so insulted after spending my money on their food I didn’t understand what made this idiot think that I was going to walk away without paying a lemonade he totally ruined my dinner and the rest of the time I spend at this place I felt like if a was a thief because of his comment I said to him that I don’t know what I looked like to him but I was not going to leave without paying horrible experience I had a few words with the guy while paying for the lemonade and I asked him if he was the owner obviously he answered he was not (which I already knew he was not he will never be one anyway ) I mentioned that it was very improper of him to talk to me like that after all who wants to be bother while eating and been reminded what you are consuming has to be paid hope he gets fired and mostly I will never go back I didn’t get his name but I didn’t feel like asking for it this black young man in the front who probably don’t have kids and don’t know how demanding kids can be when it comes to eat and drink people like that don’t need to be working serving others when they can’t treat you with respect and clearly want to assume a position of authority that doesn’t...

Came in not knowing it was only a week into their opening, so hopefully things improve in the future!

Dine in service was very nice and friendly. The individual at the pastry/donut display explained the items they had available. Given the morning rush, they were out of most items and almost all were mislabeled. It would be helpful to have a menu displaying items that are available with their price.

We ordered three donuts, one marranito(very small), one wedding cookie, two sweetbread (apparently you need to order in two) and two lattes for a total of $38. Prices were a little high for what was received.

The dine in area is very cozy. It would be perfect to work remotely or read a book. I did not see many electrical outlets, but there are a few.

Unfortunately, the pastries and donuts fell flat. I was very excited about their Latin inspired items, but given the price, I was expecting a lot more.

Overall, the experience was a mixed review. The service and people helped soften the blow of the price and lack of items. Chris came over to check on us and explained the situation so once again the service was great. Fingers crossed they read the reviews and make improvements as this could be...
