The Teahouse — Restaurant in Houston

I walked into Teahouse right after I got off work before 10pm. I was so happy to get off in time to be able to buy a boba tea for my wife on the way home. I had been at work all day and I wanted to surprise my wife with a boba to make her happy. Unfortunately, my wife would never get her surprise boba because I was refused service even though I showed up before closing time. Another group had just placed an order right before me. When it was my turn to order, the cashier with glasses pointed at the time and said it's 9:57pm. She or whatever it was wouldn't serve me. I calmly left, however I was so annoyed by the service. I'm in the service industry too, I get it. It sucks when someone walks in at the last minute but hey, that's the business. The business owner lost out on sales, my wife lost out on a good surprise, and I lost out on feeling like a better husband, even if I was gone all day while my wife was at home taking care of our 2 year old all by herself. We all lost a little...

Asked for tapioca, was told they were all out for evening. I then asked if they had baby tapioca. Once again, told they were all out. No big deal, it’s late Sunday night, I get it. So I changed my order and waited. While waiting, two groups of customers that ordered after me, got their drinks before me. I figured it could be because my order took longer to make. But when they got their drinks, they had tapioca in them! I asked the cashier why they received drinks with tapioca when I was told they were out for the night. He shrugged and said “I thought you asked for baby tapioca. We’re all out of both now,” and handed me my drinks. The Teahouse is my favorite boba shop around Houston, but I’ve never been lied to like that before. There’s a shop across the street that serves boba too, guess I’ll be going there...

Order the Taro smoothie with tapioca (aka boba) and lychee. They call them sinkers . Also, order the popcorn chicken (i could ask for it to be spicy) and squid balls (and I also asked it to be prepared spicy).

It was surprisingly empty on a Friday night at 8:30pm.

I know it’s a chain but I usually get a consistent boba here over single locations.

This location was clean and the two employees I interacted with were nice and friendly.

Depending on how busy it is this parking lot can be a little bit tough to find a spot. They are also pretty narrow so if you have a truck, SUV be careful...
