Corner Bakery Cafe — Restaurant in Houston

My wife and I both had the Half of Any Two combo so we could taste a little more of the menu. The other reviews brought us in here and we weren't disappointed. I had the Chicken Pomodori panini and the Pesto Cavatappi pasta. The common pesto base made this a perfect match. Flavorful and seasoned perfectly. The pesto was prominent but not overpowering. The pasta had a fair amount of parmesan too, so the pesto wasn't just in your face. My wife had the Roast Beef & Cheddar sandwich and the Linguine with Meatballs. The meatballs were larger than I thought they would be. They were about the size of a half dollar. The sauce was a little more tomato forward than I personally like, but the bites I had were pleasant. The generous portion of Roast Beef was cut deli store thin and the Cheddar was cut fairly thick. There was a sauce on it that was not the most pleasing to the eye, but it turned out to be an herb aioli that was extremely tasty. It also added the perfect amount of moisture to the sandwich. Again the couple bites I had were very good.

I'm not sure we will make it back here on this stay since they are not open for dinner, but the lunch is...

After ordering and purchasing my food. I noticed that one of the employees handling the food and drinks. Had a large amount of mucus dipping from his nose. He kept wiping his nose with his hand while also touching cups, food, and other items in the kitchen. This same person also delivered our food to the table. I was really grossed out and asked for a refund. They told me it was too late to get a refund because the food was already cooked. We told this employee that had mucus dripping from his nose and he told he reply I know without doing anything about it. He continues to do business and take orders and handle food as before. I told the manager/supervisor which was coughing and under the weather also, and her response was sorry. The food was cold. The decaf coffee was cold and the half and half creamer container was empty. I will definitely not be dining here again, Nor will I refer this Cafe to...

I had to review the pictures prior to placing my review. My sandwich didn’t look nothing like the pictures. The company I worked for ordered sandwiches for our staff meeting. It was the worst sandwich I have ever had. The bread was soggy because the sandwich spread was placed on the sandwich most likely we did not receive our sandwich until hours later my bread was soggy horrible the ham was horrible. I immediately spit it out so I wouldn’t have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the staff meeting, hint hint, I ate the chips the cookie in the water.
