👍 The Kelsey Plan is popular among major companies and can be a cost-effective option—if your company is large enough to negotiate favorable terms with Kelsey Seybold (KS). 🤜 Their approach to care feels like an assembly line. While this might work for some, it’s impersonal and lacks genuine empathy. 👎 Services are always rushed. My physical, which was supposed to cover multiple health checks, was limited to just 30 minutes. 👍 They provide test results from lab work and other screenings very quickly, which is a plus. I also appreciate the clear explanations of the results. 👎 They nickel and dime you for everything. I’m used to physicians who provide comprehensive care within a single visit. None of my previous doctors ever tacked on surprise charges after my appointment. 👎 During my physical, the Primary Care Physician (PCP) ran through a standard list of questions. Despite the visit being fully covered under my plan, KS billed me an extra $25 for an additional “visit” based on a single question they asked. ⚠️ Insurance Fraud – Patients need to be cautious when seeking treatment at KS. Charging for an additional service that’s actually part of the original exam is a form of insurance fraud. 👎 KS refuses to proceed with treatment or schedule further appointments unless these fraudulent charges are paid. ⚠️ Extortion – This is the practice of obtaining money (from contested charges) through force or threats (of withholding treatment), even when all other services have been fully paid. 🤜 This isn’t a strike against the business since I'm an autistic person with sensitive hearing. My PCP’s voice is painfully loud and high-pitched. Fortunately, I only have to see him once a quarter, so it’s not a major issue. 👎 However, his attitude when discussing my prescribed medications was accusatory. Simply mentioning my ADD meds felt like he was treating me as if I were asking him to be a drug dealer. 👎 KS also shows zero courtesy or respect for doctors outside their system. They dismissed my previous physician diagnosis and care as if they were incompetent and forced me to undergo a redundant evaluation just to continue my treatment. 👎 After the evaluation, I was required to sign an agreement stating I wouldn’t obtain my ADD/Autism medications from any other provider. I do not appreciate being treated like a homeless drug addict off the street. 👍 The administrative staff have always been polite. 👍 Most of the specialists I’ve worked with are friendly and make the care they provide as comfortable as possible. 🤜 This isn't a major strike against the business—accidents happen—but I once had a man walk in on me while I was changing into an exam robe. It would be nice if the changing room had a lock or at least an "occupied" sign. 👎 I’m not sure if it’s a systemic failure or just plain incompetence, but I’ve had multiple issues with appointment times mysteriously changing. I’ll schedule an appointment for a specific time, only to have it shift earlier without my consent. 👎 Representatives have even called to ask if I’d like to move the appointment up, and I clearly say no, that I want to keep the original time. Yet, I still receive alerts saying the appointment is now at the earlier time we just discussed not using. 👎 Worse, when I log in at the new (unwanted) time, the system insists my appointment is actually still at the original time. And, of course, the doctor doesn’t show up until then. That means I’ve compressed my schedule and wasted an hour—for nothing. Whether this is a glitch or staff error, it's unacceptable. 👎 The prescription handling is just as bad. I’ve repeatedly called to have prescriptions sent to a designated pharmacy, only to find days later that nothing has been done—or no one even remembers I called. That’s not just frustrating, it’s inexcusable! ⚠️ Kelsey-Seybold cannot be trusted with life-saving care until they address these serious...
Read moreAfter 3 months of fighting the good fight, I am completely disappointed with this facility. I had a new patient appointment to refill meds and establish care with a new provider/doctor. Doctor Kennedy ordered bloodwork I didn't need as I had just gotten a full panel at my previous provider. He could have just waited for that to be imported but did not. I told him I had recent bloodwork. Insurance didn't cover the entirety of the bloodwork despite "preventative care" labs being covered because it wasn't coded as a physical. I do not care what it is or is not coded as , but a full blood panel , on a new patient, to establish a base line for treatment is absolutely preventative care. They were unwilling to re-code the visit.
But that is only half my issue. From beginning to end , after talking to several representatives at the clinic, including the director of the facility Vivian, I was sold a story that the visit I had wasn't preventative in nature. I didn't go in with a condition to check out. I didn't ask for bloodwork to be done as a method of discovery for an ailment. He wanted the bloodwork to get an understanding of my physiology. As a preventative measure.
I originally wrote an email to the facility director email address on file. I was never contacted. I had to call after 3 weeks of nothing to get in touch with Vivian. After speaking to her she said she'd look into it. Instead of getting a call back from her I got a call back from Phelicia(sp). She spoke a lot of words with no valuable content and tried to explain why my visit was different, but in the end I believe she understood my point. But I never received a follow up from that.
This is not about the $130 bill. It is about the fact that this visit , for all intents and purposes is exactly what is meant by preventative treatment. The lack of communication from Vivian and the rest is unprofessional. It is my impression that this facility is relatively slow due to its location downtown, so I don't think a little bit of personal care in this matter was too much to ask.
I sent another email to the director address saying that if I did not hear back by November 30th , that I would pay my bill, and do my best to warn others about the poor service. I have heard nothing back.
I paid my bill yesterday and am looking for a new...
Read moreThis clinic is a scam. First I paid about $200 for an in person appointment. I needed a physical and a form signed by the a doctor for a study abroad trip and a meningitis shot for college qualification. For using the tools and getting the meningitis shot I ended of paying exactly $346.15. I ended up paying $567.45 that day. I spent all of the money that I owned on one doctors appointment because I can’t afford Medicaid. This is just the tip of how this clinic is no good and not recommend. At the end of my physical and the study abroad form being signed. The female doctor told me that I would need to pay another $150 for blood work just so she can finish signing my papers. Might I add: when going to another clinic afterwords and getting the doctors signature they claimed that the form didn’t even have a bloodwork qualification. I can upload my study abroad form for proof. I explained to the female doctor that I couldn’t pay for the bloodwork but then she claimed that it was free. All I would have to do was just go up to the front counter and just let the lady know about the bloodwork. When getting checked out by the nurse she recommended me their medical app that I would receive a message when the bloodwork information was complete. To my surprise in disbelief the nurse never even told me that the app had a $75 fee to it. This is the root of the scam! now I am billed with $75 and I’m not going to pay for it and I am willing to go to court. I found out this weeks later. Also, When I got done with the nurse and went up to the front counter about the bloodwork that’s when she informed me about the extra $150 truly needed to be payed. I tried to explain to them but I spent all the money that I had but all they recommend to me was going into debt with them. I refuse this offer. Like I said this place is a scam and would not recommend especially when hiding behind an abandoned shopping mall warehouse.
Does anybody have any recognition on how to resolve this issue I did make a customer complaint and plan to...
